The second part of the Final Fantasy 7 Remake has been titled Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth and is aiming for a release in Winter 2023.
The Final Fantasy 7 25th anniversary stream had plenty of surprises in store for Final Fantasy fans, including a remake of Crisis Core. However, the biggest announcement by far is that the second part of the Final Fantasy 7 Remake will be titled Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, and it's slated for Winter 2023.
The short trailer showed Cloud and Sephiroth walking through some grassy plains, side by side. Cloud says that Sephiroth wants to reclaim his birthright and rule with Genova. Cloud also seems to talk to Tifa about seeing her die and thinking that she's some kind of imposter. The trailer then asks "What is fact and what is fiction?", which is very in line with the first part of the remake and how it completely changed the original game's canon.
The trailer also shows Cloud and Zack walking together up to the gates of Midgar. As they walk, Cloud reminisces on Zack, asking him, "You were here with me. Five years ago. Where are you? What happened to you?", followed by Aerith saying that she's "trying to hard to find you". The trailer ends with Cloud saying, "Sorry. Feel like I failed you." as he and Zack look up at a part of Midgar being built.
Although getting to see Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth was enough of a shock, even more surprising is that it has a release window of Winter 2023. With Final Fantasy 16 aiming for some time in the summer, it's going to be a hell of a year for fans of the series.
That wasn't the only surprising announcement to come from the Final Fantasy 7 25th anniversary stream either, as it was also revealed that Crisis Core will be getting the remake treatment with Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 Reunion. Even better is the fact that it's aiming for later this year.
