Final Fantasy War of the Visions has a wide range of characters divided between elements, but whatever preference of play style you have, certain characters shine brighter than others. They come in various packages, sometimes they are hard-hitting mages that can destroy anything in their path with a single spell, and sometimes tanks that can soak up damage while debuffing the enemy to follow up with a demolishing piercing attack.

Most of the time, the stars of the show in any mobile game are going to be the ones that require the most effort to get and build. You don't need to pay real money to make gacha games fun, but when lady luck shines her light, these characters can take a player up until the higher echelons of PVP glory.

10 Xiza

Even though the Tigress of Hourne has not seen a lot of play in PVP or too many guild battles lately, her strength is undeniable. She performs best in pure agility teams making her high luck stats truly shine with life-saving evades.

The only downside is that pure agility teams have not been in the meta for a while. Her high agility, paired with access to the most powerful Trust Master Reward in the game, makes her a force to be reckoned with.

9 Jayden Rundall

Square Enix sure knows how to make a Machinist-style character look cool. Jayden is one of the newest units that was added to the global version of the game and by being a new unit, he automatically gets his level cap raised to 120 rather than the typical 99 that most legacy units have.

The new level cap, alongside Jayden’s magic-based attacks like Jamming Thrust, make Jayden a terrifying unit to have in a light-based team composition. Jayden alone can carry even some of the older units that have not seen much play into higher ranks in the PVP ladder.

8 Charlotte

Final Fantasy Brave Exvius’ very own Charlotte is a fine addition to War of The Visions. The lightning element was (and still is) an element whose units and vision cards leave much to be desired, but Charlotte is a step in the right direction.

She's a solid magic-based tank that the element character pool badly needed with a bonus of being able to learn the ability Steal Time due to her sub job of Thief, which can come in handy when farming the big boss raids that cycle occasionally.

7 Zazan the Unkillable

zazan the unkillable from war of the visions with title card

There is a reason that this version of Zazan is dubbed the unkillable. The earth-based unit is a slippery one to pin down. He boasts high HP, speed, and evasion, making him the ideal tank to pair with other evasion units in the element like Kitone.

The only downside to the more commonly dubbed “UR Zazan” is that he is a limited-time unit, meaning he is not in the general pool of character to pull from so building him can be quite difficult if spending real money is not on the cards.

6 Starlight Elena

elena war of the visions with title

Elena’s release in War of the Visions cemented the light element as one of the strongest in the game. With light element being the strongest in magic units, Elena fits into that puzzle perfectly.

Elena’s attacks all scale off of the magic stat giving her the best possible synergy with units like Yuna and Sakura when paired with the proper Vision Cards to fully utilize the party-wide buffs. She can even be used as a makeshift tank due to her high sustainability and bruiser-like playstyle.

5 Cloud Strife

Final-Fantasy-VII-Remake-War-of-the-Visions

The poster child of Final Fantasy. Not only is he good at destroying Mako reactors and carrying around a giant slab of iron as a sword, but he is also one of the best lighting units that the game has seen. Cloud was a meta-defining unit upon his release.

His ability to shred just about any unit’s HP with very little effort is worth the Visiore spent trying to pull him alone. Not only is Cloud a monster in the PVP arena, but he makes clearing big raid bosses with large amounts of HP a breeze.

4 Duane

The only element that can dethrone light from the meta is none other than their natural weakness found in the dark element. It is easier said than done, but what helps is having Duane in the formation.

Duane’s high attack and mobility, thanks to his Dragoon sub job, make him a force to be reckoned with when paired with a strong backline like Black Rose Helena or any strong tank that can get enemies off of him due to his frail nature.

3 Yuna

Whenever someone mentions healers in video games, it is a safe bet that they are picturing a low HP character with very little offensive prowess and sustainability. Yuna is the exception. With an ability pool that includes Reraise, Curaga, and Bursting Light, she can attack, but she can also protect.

Pairing her with magic bonus Vision Cards, like Bahamut or Trousseau, makes her almost unstoppable. Good luck trying to one-shot her while she simply revives herself and returns that damage threefold.

2 Mont (King of Leonis)

There is no way that Square Enix and Gumi would have made their protagonist a subpar unit. King Mont is hands down the best tank unit in the game. His ability pool is jam-packed with utility that any player sporting King Mont on their frontline might need.

And unlike a lot of the tank units in the game, King Mont has hate-generating skills that not only make him a more desirable target to the enemy units but also buff his agility stat making him even harder to hit.

1 Helena (Black-Robed Witch)

Not only does Helena win best dressed at the War of the Visions party, but she is hands down the best unit in the game. Easy to build (besides the fact that she is a 100 cost unit) and a jack of all trades. Helena’s kit includes a little bit of everything.

She can hit like a truck with her dark magic spells, she has debuffs to make those strong spells hit even harder, and she even boasts a couple of healing spells. A fully maxed out Helena paired with Bahamut and her own Vision Card will obliterate any opponent she is faced with.
