Square Enix has recently announced that Rinoa Heartilly from Final Fantasy VIII was going to be the next character added to Dissidia Final Fantasy NT, which seemed to line up with a series of leaks that revealed the first six DLC characters for the game. The leaks had correctly predicted that Vayne from Final Fantasy XII, Locke from Final Fantasy VI, and Rinoa from Final Fantasy VIII would be the first three DLC characters released for the game.

It seems that Square Enix has a lot more in store for Dissidia NT, as dataminers on Reddit and Twitch have uncovered information within the game that have revealed information about several new and returning characters for the game who will be added in the future.

There are names among the files for the manakin units that seem to have revealed all of the upcoming Dissidia NT characters for the near future. These names include the three characters who had previously been revealed in leaks: Snow from Final Fantasy XIII, Yuna from Final Fantasy X, and Nag'molada from Final Fantasy XI.

There are also several names for returning characters who had previously appeared in the earlier Dissidia games, including Tifa Lockhart from Final Fantasy VII, Laguna from Final Fantasy VIII, Gilgamesh from Final Fantasy V, Prishe from Final Fantasy XI, and Gabranth from Final Fantasy XII.

The most surprising part of the leak involves several new characters who are likely being saved for the second season of DLC, including Vivi from Final Fantasy IX, Kam'lanaut from Final Fantasy XI, and Zack Fair from Final Fantasy VII/Crisis Core.

The leak also revealed two new stages: The Dominion of Rubrum from Final Fantasy Type-0 and Lucis from Final Fantasy XV.

It's no secret that Dissidia NT has struggled to find an audience on consoles, due to the numerous issues with gameplay balance and the technical fidelity of the online mode. Dissida NT is a game based on an online experience and the online mode simply doesn't work most of the time. A lot of gamers were turned off from Dissidia NT due to the horrendous load times and a matchmaking system that has no sense of balance. The fact that the game itself is often filled with lag during matches had managed to scare off most of the diehard Final Fantasy fanbase after only a few hours of play.

The addition of several fan-favorite characters to Dissidia NT may be enough to win back the crowd in the future. Characters like Tifa, Yuna, Vivi, and Zack are beloved by gamers across the world, so their presence in the game may help to bring some disheartened Final Fantasy fans back to the game.
