Each protagonist is unique and has something that helps them stand out, such as their trademark weapons. Whenever it appears for the promotional, story or even gameplay reasons, all of these signature weapons acts synonymously with the character.

Here is every protagonist's signature weapon in the Final Fantasy series. Please note that it is only the protagonists that have appeared in the mainline games. Also, anyone within Final Fantasy 11 and 14 will not count due to being MMOs. Weapon information comes from the wikia.

13 Warrior Of Light - Amano Original Sword

However, there have been some weapons that people somewhat believe it to be such as the weapon Excalibur. The only art appearance of the weapon is shown in promotional images.

Regardless, it is clear that this is a weapon that is quite powerful as it helped the warrior throughout his time during the Dissidia battles. It has enough durability to contend with other great weapons like the Buster Sword.

12 Firion - Crimson Sword

Firion's Crimson Sword, also known as the Red Sword, is the trademark weapon of the warrior. A key sword that is integral to his character throughout the Dissidia games and promotional artwork. However, what's interesting is that the sword isn't actually listed in the Final Fantasy 2 swords. It actually appears more in a variety of different spin-offs such as Brave Exvius or as mentioned earlier, the Dissidia games.

Similar to the Warrior Of Light, the Onion Knight is a mute protagonist who is able to change into multiple classes. As a result, they are capable of using whatever weapons is available to them after they class change. However, one weapon that seems to be synonymous with the character is the Onion Sword. This weapon is extremely powerful as its stats are dependent on the character's levels.

10 Cecil Harvey - Mythgraven Blade

Although Dissidia often depicts Cecil Harvey as a character who utilizes a spear, he really uses swords. Being primarily known to using them within his own game, his trademark sword seems to be the Mythgraven Blade. This is the sword that the character gets once he becomes a Paladin for the first time. It is also considered a sacred blade within the lore of the game. Being incredibly effective against the undead.

9 Bartz Klauser - Brave Blade

The Brave Blade is a weapon that reoccurs not only in Final Fantasy 5 but also the vast majority of his spin-offs. Although the character is capable of using a multitude of weapons, this is the sword that is synonymous with Bartz. One of the unique elements about the sword is that it loses power whenever Bartz runs. However, power-wise it is easily one of the most powerful swords in the entire game.

8 Terra Branford - Enhancer

Terra Branford is the main protagonist of Final Fantasy 6 and is also primarily a magic-user. However, the weapon that she uses, while it seems to be a rapier actually has a name behind it. Ever since the Dissidia games, she has been known to utilizing the sword Enhancer. Based on the description used within the game, the Enhancer increases magic and magical evasion. 7 Cloud Strife - Buster Sword

6 Squall Leonhart - Revolver

Squall Leonhart's weapon of choice is the Gunblade. Although in the game specifically, it's referred to as the Revolver. The way the weapon works is that the power of the sword increases when initiating a round through the chamber. 4 Tidus - Brotherhood

Originally belonging to Wakka's brother, it is an interesting looking sword due to being made out of water. 3 Vaan - Mythril Sword

The Mythril Sword that Vaan uses is specifically designed from the appearance set in his game. Considered the weakest sword in the entire game, it offers decent boosts to both attack and evasion. However, this one is a modified version called the Blazefire Saber which is her starting weapon in both the game and in spin-offs. Noctis Lucis Caelum has an interesting place when it comes to his weapons because he is able to utilize a vast variety of weapons. Everything ranging from swords to axes.
