Final Fantasy VIII Remastered will allow players to bypass some of the trickier sections from the original version of the game with the help of new features that act in a similar manner to cheats.

Final Fantasy VIII Remastered is an enhanced version of a game that was originally released on the PlayStation. There have been other remastered versions of the PlayStation Final Fantasy titles, but Final Fantasy VIII Remastered has had more work put into it than any other, as all of the character models in the game have been improved to the point where they are almost unrecognizable compared to the originals.

Final Fantasy VIII Remastered will also include special features that were present in the other remastered PlayStation Final Fantasy titles and in the Steam version of the game, which have been detailed on the official PlayStation Blog. It will now be possible to switch off random encounters entirely with the press of a button, which was only possible in the original game by unlocking Diablos' Enc-None ability.

It will also be possible for the player to instantly max out all of their HP and ATB bars with the press of a button, as well as making Limit Breaks instantly available. The people who just want to experience the story of Final Fantasy VIII can use these options to breeze through the combat encounters.

One of the most appealing new features for returning players is a fast-forward option that plays the game at three times the normal speed. The PlayStation Final Fantasy titles came from an era where Squaresoft was a little too impressed with the new 3D hardware at their disposal, which is why the series earned a reputation for its lengthy summoning sequences. The ability to skip through the attacks used by the Guardian Forces will be a lifesaver, but it will also make it difficult to use the Boost ability in battle.

The enhanced features in Final Fantasy VIII Remastered are there to help players who are struggling with the game, or who just want to experience the story again after spending several decades away from Squall and his friends.

Final Fantasy VIII Remastered is due to be released for Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on September 3, 2019.
