Fire Emblem: Three Houses - Getting To Know The Same-Sex Supports

Fire Emblem: Three Houses is almost here, and with it comes news that Nintendo is finally embracing support of queer romance options. But while their presence is confirmed, Nintendo has kept their lips sealed on the exact options available for players at the moment.

Still, there are rumors and leaks that give us a clear idea of who players might be able to romance when the game finally launches. We'll update this article as more information becomes available, but for now, let's take a look at the options players might have this weekend!

And be warned - potential spoilers are ahead!

The Men

So far, there seem to be three major male characters that a male player can romance, as per a ResetEra thread.

Eligible bachelor number one is Gilbert. He's an older man, with a reserved and guarded personality. He has one daughter who he hasn't spoken to in years, and seems to harbor a deep love for both cooking and fishing. The Fire Emblem wiki describes him as a "deeply faithful, serious, and polite person," which is definitely a bonus.

While he's a bit on the older side, and clearly has some issues that you'll have to work through, Gilbert definitely seems like good husband material.

The son of a merchant, Alois grew up as a squire and was knighted at 24. A cheerful and boisterous man, he loves cracking jokes and fishing - although he's not particularly talented at either. He's also very much in touch with his inner child, with a steadfast fear of the supernatural and a real sweet tooth.

The youngest of these strapping lads, Linhardt's the very definition of a free spirit. He loathes rules and restraints, and loves to just laze around and enjoy a nice midday nap. That said, he does a lot of research into Crests - Three Houses' new inherited trait mechanic - and falls deep into his research, forgetting to take care of himself.

A sweet, gentle young man with a love of sweets and a dislike for fighting, Linhardt seems like the right choice for somebody in the market for a caring lover.

The Ladies

If you can get over her frankly unfortunate name, Edelgard could be the classy lady of your dreams. A daughter of royalty, she has a sophisticated air about her and a love for the finer things in life. But that doesn't mean she can't see the beauty in the simpler things, as she loves taking in beautiful scenery and being lost in nature - just so long as swimming isn't involved.

So let's get this out of the way: Sothis looks like a baby, and we're pretty sure any attempt to date her as she initially appears would result in an FBI raid of your home. However, if rumors are to be believed, she has an adult form - differentiating her from the distressing Nowi or Tiki. Not much is known about Sothis, but hey, an air of mystery makes for an exciting relationship!

Much like the hit movie starring Ja Rule, I'm In Love With A Church Girl, players looking for a higher purpose might find it in Mercedes. A deeply religious woman, Mercedes loves nothing more than to hit the church and pray the day away. Does she have much of a personality outside of that? Who knows! But for players who want faith to be an integral part of their relationship, Mercedes is your gal.

Dorothea is all about glitz, glamour, and getting up on the stage. A singer by trade, Dorothea also isn't afraid to get her hands dirty on the battlefield - just so long as she can still perform. She loves small animals, flashy clothes, and has a contempt for arrogant members of aristocracy. If you can keep up with the pressure that comes with marrying into wealth and fame, Dorothea could be the woman for you. Plus, just look at her hat! How fun!

A kind, maternal figure, Rhea is the archbishop and supreme leader of the Church of Seiros. She helps the player hone their abilities in the name of protecting the church - nurturing their natural talent while fiercely opposing enemies of the church. While it might be a bit awkward to basically date the pope, you know there's a lot of security there. Plus, it always feels nice when a partner can help to bring out the best in you.

So, as of this writing, these are your choices for bisexual supports in Fire Emblem: Three Houses. It should be noted that while the leaks surrounding these characters seem pretty final, they are just that - leaks. This information could become moot within days, and should that happen, we'll update this article.

In the meantime, who are you excited to date? Who do you want to go steady with? Let us know, and be sure to check out Fire Emblem: Three Houses when it drops this Friday.
