Is it possible to become an Animal Crossing "bellionaire" (aka, accumulate a billion bells in one Animal Crossing playthrough) without any assists or cheats? Just a week ago, that feat might have seemed impossible. But this past Friday, gamer BrianMP16 made gaming history as the first person to legitimately earn this title.

However, his feats don't stop there. Immediately after reaching bellionaire status, BrianMP16 announced plans to celebrate his accomplishment by raising money to donate to victims affected by the Nashville tornado disaster that took place on March 3, 2020 - specifically, he hoped to donate money towards animal shelters housing pets who were abandoned during the tornado.

The weekend immediately following BrianMP16's achievement as an Animal Crossing bellionaire, the gamer announced plans to extend his streaming schedule and host a weekend fundraiser to support the PAWS Chicago animal shelter group. PAWS Chicago is a no-kill animal shelter who has been providing care to abandoned animals in the wake of the tornado, with an extensive volunteer service dedicated to rescuing, housing, healing and adopting the animals.

Before streaming on Friday, BrianMP16 spoke to the shelter to discuss logistics for his donations. At the end of his celebratory bellionaire stream, he announced his plans to extend his stream and collect donations. Friday's stream accumulated a hefty $411, with plans to continue streaming the following Saturday and Sunday.

To encourage his viewers to donate, BrianMP16 set up numerous donation incentives on his channel, which included the opportunity to name and choose villagers in his town.

According to a tweet on his official Twitter account, the weekend streams were able to raise over $800 for PAWS Chicago to go towards helping the affected animals.

And even though it appears BrianMP16 has maxed out all the possible accomplishments in Animal Crossing, a recent Reddit reply from the speedrunner confirmed that he's looking forward to many more hours of grinding and speedrunning as soon as the highly anticipated Animal Crossing: New Horizons drops for the Switch in under two weeks.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons will be released worldwide for the Nintendo Switch on March 20, 2020. The game is available for pre-order now for $59.99.
