Following the announcement of The Witcher series, McFarlane Toys has revealed a first look at the 12-inch Geralt of Rivia action figure. The prominent character, based on his appearance in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, was unveiled to the public with a press release from the toy company.

Announced yesterday, the press release reiterated the exciting combination of The Witcher franchise and Todd McFarlane’s toy chain, whilst debuting the 12-inch Geralt of Rivia action figure. Geralt will be added to the Fall 2020 collection, which will showcase his iconic Kaer Morhen armor, his silver and steel swords with sheaths, monster head trophies, and a branded base. The figure will be available in November for an estimated retail price of $39.99, and will be available to purchase at Best Buy, Walmart, and Amazon.

The Witcher will be McFarlane Toys’ second line within its partnership with CD Projekt Red, after its Cyberpunk 2077 line. The 12-inch Johnny Silverhand and V action figures were released earlier this year to accompany the game’s initial release, which has now been delayed until November 19. The futuristic open world is expected to contend for game of the year, just like The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt did in 2016.

Comic book creator and CEO of McFarlane Toys Todd McFarlane commented in the press release on how The Witcher adds to the video game industry by producing “some of the most amazing visuals you’ll ever see.” He continued by expressing his excitement over bringing these characters to life, to create “the most realistic, accurate action figure out there!”

Dubbed as one of the best video games of all time, Wild Hunt achieved critical acclaim for its gameplay, narrative and overall design. The third installment of the series followed monster hunter Geralt of Rivia in his search for his daughter, whilst being pursued by the Wild Hunt; a group of mythical wraiths riding on undead horses.

A flurry of hype surrounded The Witcher following the release of the popular Netflix series, which is no doubt what triggered McFarlane’s inspiration. Another Wild Hunt character, Yennefer of Vengerberg, is also expected to be part of the Fall 2020 line-up for McFarlane Toys. It is predicted that the company will release smaller 7-inch figures of The Witcher characters, that are likely to appear in the spring of 2021.
