A First-Person Mod Is Now Available For The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild can now be played in beautiful 4K in first-person mode with the help of this mod.

Breath of the Wild has long been referred to as the Skyrim of Zelda games. In much the same way as happened during pretty much everyone’s time in Skyrim, Link could easily get lost in endless hour of side quests and tasks that had absolutely nothing to do with the main story, or the player could just spend hours taking in all the beautiful scenery than Breath of the Wild had to offer.

The only thing that set the two apart was the fact that Zelda was a third-person game and not a first-person game. Well, now there’s a mod for the game that allows you to play Breath of the Wild in full first-person mode.

The mod is available for Wii U and the Switch, but looks best using the Cemu PC emulator. This unlocks the full potential of the First Person View mod and lets you really enjoy all the visual splendor that Breath of the Wild has to offer.

In the video below of First Person View running on Cemu, Breath of the Wild is rendered in gorgeous 4K at mostly 60 frames per second. This is Breath of the Wild like you’ve never seen before. With the resolution dialed up to 4K, you can easily make out each individual blade of grass as it waves in the wind.

Not only does the mod allow you to experience Zelda in first-person, but it will also seamlessly switch to third-person mode when entering combat to give the player a better view of the action. You can keep it in first-person mode if you really want to maintain that Skyrim feel, but Breath of the Wild often surrounds you with enemies and third-person is a little easier to engage in.

The mod will also switch to third-person during swimming and climbing as well.

First Person View is currently in its alpha stages, so expect a few bugs if you plan to download and try it out. The good news is that the mod is still very much in active development, so if you experience an issue, post a comment on the mod’s official download page or in the comments section of the video.
