Life is Strange: True Colors will be followed by the Wavelengths DLC shortly after the game’s launch, and we've now got a first look at what it entails. The first trailer shows that the episode will be dedicated to Steph Gingrich’s past and her relationships with the Haven Springs.
Fans of the series may be familiar with Steph from the Before the Storm prequel. In Wavelengths, you’ll step into her shoes, living the life of a KRCT radio DJ throughout four seasons — from the first day on the new job to local radio legend. You’ll also be managing the Haven’s records store as part of Steph’s responsibilities.
The new footage gives you a taste of what to expect from Wavelengths which is plenty of vinyl music, heartwarming life stories, jam sessions, funny accidents, and even tabletop role-playing games. The DLC will feature songs by Alt-J and Foals (who both had tracks appear in the original game), as well as Girl in Red, Portugal The Man, Hayley Kiyoko, Local Natives, and Sigur Rós.
Another interesting detail in the video is various holiday events Steph Gingrich will be involved in. What's a more relaxing thing to do than to dive into the everyday life of a picturesque town in the Colorado mountains, spending the whole year with its inhabitants and their holiday traditions? Judging from the video, this prequel episode will be somewhat of a joyful low-pressure adventure, but you never know for sure with the Life is Strange series.
While more Life is Strange content on the way is pretty good news for the fans, there has been some bad news recently too. Just recently it was officially announced that Life is Strange Remastered Collection won’t be coming this year and will instead launch sometime early 2022. Developer Deck Nine said the studio wants to “alleviate any additional pressure on the team.”
Life is Strange: True Colors basically isn’t moving and is keeping its September 10 release date for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. However, the game won’t launch on Nintendo Switch on that day. Instead, the Switch-version was also delayed for an unspecified time and will launch later this year.
Life is Strange: Wavelengths DLC will be available on September 30, not long after True Colours.
