Fans of Five Nights at Freddy's were treated to an unpleasant surprise by the toymaker Funko last week, when images of the characters for Security Breach were tweeted out for the world to see. Perhaps even more disappointing than potential spoilers is the fact that this is the second time that Funko leaked information about the game.

Fans of the series have been waiting anxiously for the next installment to be released. Although many are in it for the jump-scares alone, others want to see what Security Breach will mean for complex and intriguing lore of the franchise. One Twitter user summed it up well, saying, "First of all, please stop sharing stuff about Security Breach because Scott told you to not do this. Secondly, these designs look horrible. All of this is really bad. These better not be the final designs in the game."

As reported in GameRant, creator Scott Cawthon holds a tremendous amount of respect among his fans. When the first leak from Funko happened back in April, Scott responded by saying that he wished that they had, "at least used the finished artwork or even the finished concept art." Now, he's been forced to come back for round two. Scott recently responded to the new leak on Reddit with the statement: "Hey everyone, try not to let any of this bother you too much. Things will be happening very, very differently going forward." Yikes, Funko.

If this were a mistake, one would expect the tweet to be deleted, but it's still up, fueling concerns that these are indeed the official toys associated with Security Breach.

Five Nights at Freddy's is beloved by its fan base, which continues to grow with Help Wanted making the move to Nintendo Switch. Even if all of your exposure to the series comes from watching YouTube "Let's Plays" and lore theories, you can't help but be drawn into the story and—given the extreme complexity—guard yourself from any spoilers. Hopefully, this leak doesn't have any large implications, but if it does, there will still plenty more to theorize over when the game releases later this year.
