10 Triple Threat

Triple Threat dunks a basketball into a hoop being held by Jumpshot.

Triple Threat was released in Fortnite in the summer of 2018, when it was added to the Item Shop during the NBA Finals of that year as a part of the Half Court set. It quickly became one of the most popular skins of that era of the battle royale.

It features a backwards cap, shorts, and a basketball jersey. As skins go, many considered this one of the "sweaty ones" for some time. If you're the type to play your heart out in every match, you probably have this one in your locker.

9 Alpine Ace

The Alpine Ace skin (Canadian variant) stands with his arms folded.

Apline Ace is one of the original sports skins in Fortnite. It first became available during the 2018 Winter Olympics, way before the football and soccer skins that first allowed you make one purchase to receive all the customisation options available.

Instead, Alpine Ace was put in the Item Shop with several different appearances to choose from. You had to purchase each separately, however. The pieces of the outfit were the same across the board, with their big differences being the country each skin was based on.

8 Football Skins

A New England Patriot Fortnite skin is centered with an Eagles and Broncos player to either side.

The Gridiron Gang set delivered a whopping 22 outfits. Nearly half of them were football players, like the Trench Runner, the TD Titan, the Scrimmage Scrapper, and the Punt Paragon, just to name a few. These skins came in a variety of base colours, with customizable American football options.

If you own one of them, you're able to change the color scheme, or select an outfit from your favorite team. You can even choose the jersey number that you wear as you glide and build your way to a Victory Royale.

7 The Referees

One of the referee skins from the Gridiron Gang set stands with her hands on her hips.

Football would be even more chaotic without officials making sure players follow the rules. Referees, despite the average sports fan's opinion of them, are vital to ensuring a successful and complete game in any sport.

From End Zone Expert to Offside Officer, the referees were almost as plentiful as the players themselves

6 Naomi Osaka

The two Naomi Osaka Fortnite skin styles stand and gesture a peace sign with the thumb out.

Naomi Osaka is a tennis superstar. She has won four Grand Slam singles championships, two in the Australian Open and two in the US Open. Naturally, Epic Games reached out for collaboration, and added to her Fortnite as just one of so many other crossover skins.

Though it may now find itself in the Item Shop, you could have gotten your hands on it early during the Naomi Osaka Cup. If you earned enough points on March 2, 2022, during the event, her set was yours to preview.

5 LeBron James

The King James set arrived in Fortnite on July 15, 2021. This made LeBron James a part of the Icon Series just one day before he starred in Space Jam: A New Legacy. The championship basketball player even came with an alternate style where he sports his Tune Squad jersey.

The regular style was given a special effect that most skins don't see, with quests that, if completed, made LeBron turn gold. The more quests done, the more golden he became, but with a customizable option to revert to an earlier stage if you'd like.

4 Patrick Mahomes

Patrick Mahomes, the quarterback for the Kansas City Chiefs of the National Football League, joined the Fortnite ranks in August 2022. The star is a Super Bowl Champion, Super Bowl MVP, NFL MVP, and a four-time Pro Bowler.

3 Neymar Jr.

Neymar da Silva Santos Júnior, commonly known as simply Neymar, is one of the best football players of all time. The Brazilian is a recognized sports star across the globe, and received an Icon Series Fortnite skin as a part of the Chapter 2 Season 6 Battle Pass.

The Neymar skin came with multiple styles, including one that turned him into a superhero. You had to complete quests from football players NPCs placed around the map in order to unlock everything from his set.

2 John Cena

Both John Cena Fortnite skin styles stand and deliver the U Can't C Me emote.

You'll be hard-pressed to find someone who doesn't know John Cena. The professional wrestler, rapper, actor, and Make A Wish record holder became a household name shortly after his WWE debut in 2002. Since then, he's accomplished a lot, including getting his own Fortnite skin.

The bundle released on July 29, 2022 included the John Cena outfit with a selectable shirtless style, the U Can't C Me emote, and a WWE Championship Title back bling. Since his inclusion, players have been laying the smackdown on their way to a Victory Royale.

1 The Original Football Skins

The various soccer skins from Fortnite stand on the pitch with some kicking a ball, a goalie blocking, one blowing a vuvuzela, and another holding the trophy pickaxe.

During the 2018 World Cup, Fortnite introduced arguably its most iconic sports-themed set. Though they have labels such as Aerial Threat, Finesse Finisher, and Super Striker, Fortnite players simply call them the Football skins.

These skins have become synonymous with the most competitive players in Fortnite. No matter which version they purchased and which country's design they choose, if you see one of the skins coming your way, you know you're in for a fight.
