Quick Links

Within the magic-filled world of Forspoken, there are plenty of monsters and obstacles for Frey to overcome. Some of the most difficult challenges she can encounter are the four abominations that roam different areas of the world. These fights can be done at any point in the game and, for some of the harder abominations, you will want to wait until you are as strong as possible before taking them on.

Each of the abominations has a link to an element and Deinosuchus, Avoalet's abomination, is a fight involving a lot of water-based magic and attacks, creating an incredibly challenging battle for you to overcome.

Where To Find Deinosuchus

Forspoken Deinosuchus Map Location

To find Deinosuchus, you will want to head into the southern area of Avoalet. The best place to fast-travel to will be The Moulderings, and the fight will be off to the West if it does not come up on the map.

Similar to the Gigas abomination fight, this one isn't too difficult to find and it is more than possible that you could find this by accident whilst exploring the world.

There are other Deinosuchus that can be found in the Locked Labyrinth, but this guide will focus on the one found in the Overworld.

Deinosuchus Boss Fight

Forspoken Deinosuchus Waterball Attack Beams

The struggle with this fight is that you will be avoiding attacks and trying to hit the boss on small islands of land with the rest of the arena being covered in water. This makes it easy for Deinosuchus to move around and avoid anything you throw its way, making it feel incredibly irritating with how much you need to be focusing on where you can and can't jump to.

It is very useful to know that this abomination is heavily resistant to Prav's Blue Magic, and is weak to Frey's Purple Magic, so make sure to use this to your advantage and stick to Frey's magic as much as you can throughout the fight.

Glide is essential to make this fight a lot more manageable. As mentioned, you will be dealing with a lot of water, and not having to swim between the islands using glide will have a massive impact on the fight and make it feel much less tedious.

Deinosuchus Moveset

Forspoken Deinosuchus Waterblade Attack

The most common moves this abomination will be doing are; throwing water projectiles at you where several blades of water are hurled your way, which can be dodged using flow with relative ease; and its movement attack where it will disappear and create a small AOE on re-entry shown clearly by a blue glow from the floor or water. These attacks will both be done a lot, but as long as you are staying on the move at all times, you shouldn't be getting hit by them.

Once Deinosuchus does its movement attack, it will be shrouded with a fog that is removed by attacking.

Forspoken Deinosuchus Waterball Attack

There is an attack where waterballs come into the air and will shoot down at Frey. These can be hard to predict if you aren't keeping an eye on them, but if you are cautious, you should be able to dodge the attacks.

The abomination has two piercing attacks that can do immense damage if you get greedy.

One of these attacks will have Deinosuchus splashing down onto the water, creating several water-based explosions. This attack will be indicated by a purple cross like similar attacks in the game and there will be glowing markers around Frey indicating where the attacks will be affecting.

Simply enter flow and evade the attack by moving to another island.

The other piercing attack is a massive beam that starts pointing straight up at the sky and will then come down towards you. This attack can be punished and staggered, but it isn't worth the risk as it can do enough damage to instantly kill you if your Cuff's defence is broken.

What can be the deadliest attack for this abomination is its AOE shriek. However, there are several indicators that let you know it is about to happen from specks of pink and red on the screen, and Frey's vision will start to get blurry.

When the attack starts, get as far away from it as possible and you should be able to dodge it.
