You will often find nightmares in Breakstorms, which are events that happen around the world and act as a maelstrom for Frey to endure. The blue foggy wind itself will do chip damage to you and it will bring with it all kinds of nightmares which are often safest to simply run from until you are strong enough to fight them.

Where To Find The Jabberwock

Forspoken Jabberwock Map Location

Giant Nightmares like the Jabberwock will spawn in Breakstorms, and there are a couple of areas that have a chance to spawn the Jabberwock.

Your best bet for getting the encounter will be heading to the Breakstorm found to the very north of Opal Hills, going slightly to the east side of the top of the area.

Annoyingly, the Breakstorms and nightmares won't show up on your map, but they shouldn't be too hard to spot in game as they are massive storms of blue fog/wind.

It will become very obvious if the Jabberwock is there as you will see its health bar pop up at the top of your screen and even before the fight begins, you should see it from some distance away, as it is standing at a whopping 82' 9''.

How To Beat The Jabberwock

forspoken Jabberwock Beam Attack

This beast/horse-like nightmare isn't especially aggressive, but it has attacks that can get you at range and plenty that hurt up close.

It is weak to Frey's magic, which is fantastic considering how many powerful support spells she has that you can use to aid you in this fight. Its eye is also a weak point that you can aim for throughout the fight, but you will be spending most of your time hitting its legs.

The Jabberwock will stay still a decent amount whilst it builds up attacks or summons some nightmares giving ample opportunity to set up spells like Crucible.

Arc Slice is a solid choice to use throughout the fight for dealing consistent damage to the Jabberwock, and it is capable of dealing with the smaller nightmares pretty easily.

As the Jabberwock doesn't have resistance to any form of magic, you can get away with using any attack spell depending on what you prefer, but you will be doing the most damage with Frey's magic.

As you will be setting up spells like Crucible, you don't have to worry as much about the smaller nightmares, Riven Carcass, Riven Antler, and Riven Wing, as the AOE of Frey's magic attack should be enough to hold them off from overwhelming you, allowing you to just focus on the Jabberwock as much as possible.

With Crucible, you can stun-lock the Jabberwock pretty consistently and the attacks that it does, like a slam attack and a charging swipe attack, are telegraphed by either red or purple crosses. Simply activate Flow to evade the attack and spend a few seconds dealing with the other nightmares before diving back into the fight.

The main attack to watch out for is a beam that comes from its eye which can be avoided as long as you are behind it; if you're in front simply activate flow and back off a little and wait for the attack to finish.

Rewards

After you manage to beat the Jabberwock, the reward drops are similar to the other giant nightmares. Fervid Garland, Leaden Garland, Lucid Garland, and Welkin Garland are all dropped by the Jabberwock.

You are also able to fight a variant of the Jabberwock in the Locked Labyrinth, which will yield similar rewards.
