Since 2017 we've seen Fortnite go from an overnight sensation to an everyday part of pop culture. We've seen a whole range of crossover characters, from the expected ones like Star Wars and Batman to some weirder ones like Bad Boys and Rick and Morty. We've seen Fortnite hit the Esports scene in weird and wonderful ways. We've seen huge lawsuits that shook mega-companies to their core, and we've seen endless leaks and fan speculation about the future of the game.

It's been a long four years is what we're saying, and nearly 20 seasons in, Fortnite shows no signs of slowing down. Fornite feels both like it's been around gaming forever and like it's only just got here. Try not to have an existential crisis whilst you ponder that.

To help distract you from the unstoppable passage of time, Fortnite currently has some birthday challenges up that'll let you earn some free cosmetics, including a new pickaxe, back bling and emoticon. The challenges are as simple as dancing in front of balloons and cakes, and the cosmetics are completely free to earn. That'll stop you from thinking about how long four years really is, right?
