Whether you're a Fortnite veteran or brand new to the battle royale, editing is an invaluable skill that will give you a leg up on most of your competition. But practicing your edits during matches can be near impossible with 98 other people looking to send you back to the lobby. That's where Creative mode editing courses come in. For those unfamiliar with Creative, it's essentially Fortnite's sandbox where players can free build, create their own maps or play user-generated game modes. The courses listed below are some of the best maps made specifically to help players train and improve their editing, aiming, and piece control.

To access these maps enter Creative mode by navigating to the right during the game's launch instead of selecting, "Battle Royale". Alternatively, you can access Creative from the lobby by heading to the "Discovery" game selection screen and choosing Creative or directly entering your map code under the "Island Code" tab. Once you've entered your map's corresponding code you'll be transported to your edit course so you can practice your edits and level up your play.

Flea's Edit Practice Map is nothing short of an editing playground. The simple map is filled with every type of edit course imaginable including edit tunnels, edit ups, edit downs, and edit towers. To ensure you don't become too comfortable or memorize a singular edit course, Flea's map also features slight variations of every type of course, as labeled by the different colored squares on the floor.

Once you spawn on the island you might be surprised to see nothing but black walls. Step on the pads labeled "Walls Off" to reveal the courses and get to practicing. The walls are there in block off sections of edit courses so you can focus on the task at hand while reducing the chance of dropped frames if you're on PC.

This map features five different editing courses ranging in difficulty from "Easy" all the way up to "Impossible". The range of difficulties will allow you to enhance your edits no matter your current skill level, and you'll have tangible evidence of your progress.

When you begin an edit course you'll have the option to jump on a launch pad to begin a timer so you can compare the speed of your completed runs. Remain attentive as you make your way through the edit courses as you'll encounter different targets that'll teach you how to effectively pop an edit and quickly fire at an opponent.

In addition to the edit courses, Raider464 added 6 mini-games that will boost other aspects of your game. The mini-games include double edit practice, aim training, and tracking. Mastery of all these techniques will greatly strengthen your in-game performance.

Proper crosshair placement is one of the most important parts of editing as effective crosshair placement will increase your edit speed and limit your chances of missing an edit.

This edit course features markings in front of the builds to indicate the most efficient location for you to place your crosshair for every type of edit. Repetition is the name of the game, and after some consistent practice, your editing crosshair placement should become something close to muscle memory.

This map features an incredibly helpful edit and aim course that looks to develop your aim and shooting speed immediately after editing. Similar to the crosshair placement course, the edit and aim course features markings to tell you which edit to perform and where to place your crosshair for the most efficient movement.

Though likely the most advanced editing technique, this map also contains a section that will teach you some common piece control methods.

Arguably the most enjoyable entry on this list, this map allows you to race a friend as you make your way through a complex editing course. You'll get the same level of training as you'd get from most of the other edit courses while sharing a laugh and competing with a pal that's also improving their skills.

The map features three different editing courses to try, and each course is varied and includes every type of edit you can imagine. If the course seems too easy for you and your friend you can increase your character's movement speed for an additional challenge.

Star's Ultimate Edit Course is perhaps one of the simplest edit courses listed, but that's what makes it so effective. The course takes roughly ten minutes to complete and its long duration forces you to focus and grind.

This map has everything you can ask for in an edit course in an unassuming package. Lastly, this map has a free build section that you can use to round out your warm-up or practice and so you can begin incorporating your edits into your building style.

4 Mongraal Classic

Creator Code

Mad/Island Code

Named after the professional Fortnite player that popularized the edit, this map was made to train players to perform a wall take, place a ramp, and edit it quickly before firing at a boxed opponent. Though the Mongraal Classic may be a maneuver for more experienced players, that doesn't mean this map isn't immensely helpful to new players, as well.

The map features a single metal wall with a dummy behind it that will shoot at you if you remain in their line of sight for too long. Shoot the dummy behind the wall, and you'll drop down to a reset setup. This course will enable you to practice the Mongraal Classic, rapid wall takes, or even simple window edits before nailing headshots.

This course technically has no editing at all but winning in any battle royale is obviously dependent on dishing out more damage than you take. Here you can train yourself to take advantage of angles during combat, especially after you perform edits, so you take minimal damage while peeking at your enemies.

Once you spawn, choose a weapon before heading over to the left side of the room to choose a difficulty. Selecting "Practice Mode" will make you invulnerable, "Default" gives you 100 health and 100 shield, "Hard" limits you to 100 health, and finally "Impossible" will leave you with one HP.

After making your decision you're free to explore the various doorways and after dishing out damage to the dummy inside you'll progress to the next practice setup, but be careful as they're just as eager to shoot you back.

2 Edit & Aim Course

Creator Code

Shride

Mad/Island Code

8655-4007-7726

Shride's Edit & Aim course is not unlike some other edit courses mentioned, but it provides the most guidance to the player. Beginning the course you will see the edit you should perform on the left of the wall indicated by the blue and green blocks. As the edit course progresses you'll encounter various instructions depending on the section you find yourself in.

The edit course includes everything you'd expect but adds various shooting targets, sections of dedicated aim practice, and it is the only map listed to contain sections of wall resets. Resetting your walls quickly can be the difference between taking an advantageous peek through your edit or taking unnecessary damage.

Flea's Editing Dictionary is without a doubt one of the most aesthetically pleasing edit courses out there. From the map's lobby you can select six different background options including plain, blue, black, and the stunning blue nebula, green nebula, and purple nebula.

Just like Flea's other maps, this one includes four different types of editing courses including edit tunnels, edit ups, edit downs, and edit towers, each prepared with variations that are labeled by name and color.

If you enjoy any of these editing courses consider supporting the map creators by using their creator codes in the item shop.
