Season 9 of Fortnite has ended in the only way possible: with flossing.

The build-up to Season 9’s ultimate climax finally happened on Saturday, with the giant monster Cattus battling against the equally enormous robot Doggus. The two fought in a four-minute battle to the death, in which Doggus ultimately emerged victorious and then did a one-handed floss because... what else do you expect from Fortnite?

It’s been a long time coming, with many twists and turns along the way. Cattus was initially believed to be a crossover event with Godzilla: King of Monsters. However, instead of a frozen Ghidorah emerging, a giant green cat-like beast arose and started wreaking havoc across the island.

In response, a giant dog robot began construction in the remains of the volcano that erupted in Season 8. Over the course of Season 9, drones built a giant dog robot for what would obviously end in a Pacific Rim-style fight between these two humongous opponents.

Just to make that even more apparent, posters began to appear last week telling players to “take the high ground” when danger appeared and suggested the sky platforms as a good vantage point.

That battle finally happened yesterday at 2 PM EST. The only game mode available was “The Final Showdown,” which began with Cattus rising from the waters surrounding the island. Doggus then got into position and launched a flurry of missiles at Cattus, doing little more than getting its attention.

Cattus responded with a green acid blast that dropped Doggus to its knees before the robot dog responded with a flying tackle into the ocean.

Though Doggus emerged as the apparent victor, Cattus then leaped onto the robot’s back and bit off its arm. All seemed lost until Doggus found a buried power sword and plunged it through the enormous cat’s single eye, stopping it dead in its tracks, before it flossed with a single arm... because Fortnite.

You can see the whole thing in the video above if you missed it live. We have no idea what Season 10 will bring (other than a Stranger Things crossover), but it’s got a big act to follow after this cinematic showstopper.
