After we all watched Fortnite as we know it disappear into a mysterious black hole, the latest chapter of the global phenomenon has now arrived, and it's pretty different.

Epic Games really has a knack for keeping Fortnite's millions of fans hooked on the game, even when the world claims to hate it. For the majority of Season X, players have been complaining about the addition of B.R.U.T.E.s—giant mechs designed to help new players get a few eliminations under their belts. That ruffled the feathers of veteran players and they weren't quiet about their opinion.

Regardless of their outrage, millions continued to play and all of a sudden Fortnite is the hottest topic in gaming all over again. This time it's due to the game, well... disappearing. The world watched as Fortnite's map and everything on it disappeared into a mysterious black hole, at which point Epic did not divulge what was coming next, if anything.

Today, that panic has been replaced by excitement. In the early hours of morning, Epic dropped a trailer for what has been dubbed Fortnite Chapter 2: Season 1. That's right folks, we're starting all over again on a different island. The trailer, which you can check out for yourselves below, features a whole new cast of characters, some pretty picturesque looking mountains, and a river downstream from a nuclear power plant which we would definitely recommend drinking from.

All of that excitement, and the thing that caught our eye was Fortnite Chapter 2's new characters fishing. Not for fish, but for weapons. Well, all but one of them managed to land themselves a weapon. Honestly, it all seems pretty calm and placid—almost like an entirely different game. That is until the Battle Bus arrives and some of our old favorites from Chapter One land on the new island to wreak havoc.

The action-packed half of the trailer shows off speedboat battles, characters swimming in far deeper waters than players will have been accustomed to, and the ability to blow up the game's many gas stations. Plus, the best news of all, Fortnite Chapter 2 is available now.
