It's time to test the waters (and the boats) of Fortnite Chapter 2. As players drop into the new island for the first time, there are a few things that become immediately apparent. In addition to new drop sites, new mechanics, and updated graphics, there’s a major overhaul in the weapons department that vaults some of the game's most notable items.

It seems like nothing is safe from Epic’s wrath. While polarizing items like junk rifts and hoverboards were swallowed by the black hole, fan-favorites and tenured items like the campfire and the Chug Jug also got the boot. Additionally, all of the items that arrived as part of the “Batman” crossover have been vaulted (thank god). Whether you’re a Fortnite veteran or whether Chapter 2 serves as your introduction to the game, keeping track of which items will be available moving forward is vital to your success in the game’s new age.

Fortnite Leaks’ Twitter account was the first to compile a list of vaulted items, and fans have been vocal since the release of Chapter Two regarding their feelings toward the updated gameplay.

Onto The Next Chapter

Love it or hate it, Chapter Two brings an incredible number of changes to the game. It’s impossible to please everyone, but Epic Games is doing an excellent job of keeping audiences engaged. The black hole event attracted an incredible following on Twitch, as Fortnite viewership on major streaming platforms reached its highest levels in months during the in-game event.

If the mass vaulting of some of the game’s most popular items isn’t exactly what you had in mind for Chapter Two, there’s still plenty to be excited about. The new Battle Pass includes new gliders, skins, backpacks, emotes, and more — leaving no time to agonize over the fact that your favorite in-game item is temporarily disabled. A new UI, default skins, and an updated progression system are all part of the revamped DNA as well. The world's most enduring game enters its second chapter: Chapter Two, to be specific - at least it came up with a clever title.
