Fortnite Devs Made Real-Life Slurp Juice For TwitchCon 2018

Epic Games brought Fortnite's Slurp Juice to life at TwitchCon 2018 in the form of a delicious-looking ice drink.

Fortnite has basically taken over the video game world in the space of the past 12 months. The battle royale version of the game is now available to download for free on every platform you could possibly hope it to be. Whether you game on a PC, console, or smartphone, Fortnite is ready and waiting if you want it.

In fact, the game has dominated the gaming world so successfully that it is starting to spill over into the real one. You can already get your hands on a Fortnite version of Monopoly, and next year Hasbro is releasing Fortnite-themed nerf guns. If you were a Fortnite fan at TwitchCon 2018 last weekend, you might have seen another real-life manifestation of the game.

Epic Games, the developers behind Fortnite, created some actually Slurp Juice for convention goers. For those unfamiliar with the beverage, it is a greeny blue concoction that slowly regenerates your shield when consumed in-game. As delicious as the real-life version of the juice looks, we can't imagine it's quite as cold on Fortnite Island. At the speed the avatars consume it they'd undoubtedly get brain freeze.

For those of us not lucky enough to be at TwitchCon, Epic's Senior PR Rep gave us the first glimpse at TwitchCon's Slurp Juice station. Other Fortnite fans shared photos on social media of what the mysterious drink looks like up close. It sounds as if a large section of TwitchCon was dedicated to Fortnite. Understandable considering the meteoric rise and sheer popularity of the game.

Personally, we want to see more items from Fortnite start appearing in the real world. As long as they're harmless ones, of course. Why not drink your Slurp Juice out of a Chug Jug? How about a Bonesy backpack that we can carry our provisions in? If you do see any of those ideas manifest in the coming months, remember that you read them here first.
