Epic quickly reverted the changes it made to turbo building in Fortnite this week after backlash, but is now being accused of doubling back and reinstating the original changes.

The Fortnite community is not shy about voicing its collective displeasure when Epic makes changes to the game it loves that it doesn't like. That has never been clearer than it has been this season due to the introduction of B.R.U.T.E.s. - giant mechs that players stand little to no chance of coming out of the confrontation intact if they are confronted by one.

This week, another change made to Fortnite had a large chunk of players up in arms. The nerfing of the game's turbo build feature. Epic changed the delay between building each placement from 0.05 seconds to 0.15 seconds. To the layman, that might not sound like much, but that tenth of a second is often the difference between being eliminated and making it to safety.

Shockingly, not only did Epic listen, but it backtracked. The developer heard players' complaints and quickly changed the delay back to a mere 0.05 seconds... or did it? According to Fortnite fans on Reddit, Epic either reversed the change or simply lied and left it in place. The video below provides proof that there is still a longer delay between placements when turbo building.

As if Epic doesn't do enough to make players rally against it, seemingly lying to its extremely large Fortnite fanbase is a new level of betrayal. An Epic community manager has addressed the issue by replying to the video above. They have claimed that no “intentional changes were released since yesterday’s adjustments." They also added that delays in turbo building are currently being investigated.

The likelihood is that this is simply a bug and by the time you read this, it will have been fixed. There's also a chance that Epic reinstated the changes hoping no one would notice. If so, it is not cool. Honestly, the most surprising thing about all of this is that Epic backtracked on the turbo build change it made so quickly. It normally takes a full season of complaining before that kind of action is taken.
