Fortnite Chapter 2 is in full swing and has ushered in a lot of changes to the popular game. From a new island to the introduction of the ability to fish, the Fortnite we know now is very different to the one players had become accustomed to over the past couple of years. The way in which battle passes are leveled up and challenges are revealed has changed drastically too.
One of the main differences in that arena is that players are now being tasked with trying to discover every letter of the word "Fortnite" over the course of the season. A new letter is made available each week, but it's not as simple as stumbling across it. Players needed to find the "F" in week one and, for those having trouble scouting out the "O," check out TheGamer's article below for some tips.
Forged In Slurp
Onto this set of challenges' letter: "R." As mentioned above, finding the letters isn't as simple as just landing on the island and seeking them out. Eight weekly challenges need to be completed first, and this week, those challenges have been dubbed Forged in Slurp challenges. Most of them will be tasks players will complete without even realizing it. Search Chests at Slurpy Swamp or Retail Row, and Deal Damage with Common weapons, for example. Others will require a little more active input.
Dance at Compact Cars, Lockie’s Lighthouse and a Weather Station is an example of one challenge players won't complete unless they actually try to - at least we hope not. The odds of someone dancing at those three locations by chance are very slim. Once eight of the Forged in Slurp challenges have been completed, a loading screen will be unlocked. The loading screen below, to be exact, and within that loading screen is the key to finding this week's letter.
Between An 'A' & An 'M,' You'll Find An 'R'
Still having issues? That's understandable. Even with the loading screen at your disposal, it's still not blatantly obvious. The location on the map can be found at Fortnite's Slurpy Swamp, and the exact location of the "R" is between the "A" and the "M" in the word Swamp. Head to the drain which is the blue glowing thing in the picture, and there you'll find the "R." All set until next week when the "T" will drop, after eight of the new weekly challenges have been completed, of course.
Players thinking they can now cut out the middle man and head straight to the swamp to pick up the "R," hold your horse for just a split second. The letter, as is the rule of thumb every week, will only reveal itself to players who have successfully completed eight of those weekly challenges. Go wading up to that glowing drain before those challenges have been completed and there'll be nothing there.
As for Fortnite Chapter 2 as a whole, Epic's numbers look good and, perhaps the most shocking thing of all, no one seems to be complaining. We're sure someone is complaining about Fortnite somewhere, but there has been no mass scandal akin to Season X's mechs.
