Here's a chance for you and your friends to win a free skin! There are hundreds of different cosmetic items in Fortnite Battle Royale, but you can never own too many, right? Join the new Refer a Friend program and get your hands on some exclusive items, including the awesome Rainbow Racer skin which is actually, fan-favorite model, Headhunter.
You and up to five eligible friends can sign up. Then, you'll have to help each other out and complete some in-game tasks together in order to earn all of the cosmetic items belonging to this event set.
You can register with your Epic account on the Refer a Friend page. This is still a beta version of the program but you can register between October 25, 10 AM ET and November 14, 11:59 PM ET in order to be able to earn the rewards. Beware to warn the friends you're referring that they cannot participate later on as a referrer. And, although referees don't need to register on the program page, they still have the ability to, which allows them to check their progress.
According to Epic games, to be eligible as a referee, the person has to have not played more than 120 minutes of a core Fortnite Battle Royale game mode, meaning Solos, Duos, Trios, or Squads, in the past 30 days. So, if you know someone that fits the description then be sure to convince them to hop on their account or make a new one so they can help you out.
Rewards
You will need to complete a few tasks to earn the cosmetic items. If you've been playing for a while, they won't be too much of a pain, and those just starting out shouldn't have too much trouble with them either.
Here are all the rewards you'll receive and their corresponding tasks:
- Gridlock Loading Screen - Add a friend
- Miridescent Wrap - Play one Fortnite game with a referee
- Flair Fare Glider - Place Top Ten a total of three times with a referee
- Drive Shaft Pickaxe - Eliminate ten opponents with a referee
- Rainbow Racer Outfit - Gain at least 60 levels and wait for your referee to gain at least 60 levels as well
That many levels might look scary at first but don't worry — although you can only register until November 14, the deadline for the rewards isn't as strict. You have over two months to get those 60 account levels. You need to complete the tasks before January 10 in order to earn the rewards. You can go through the entire program and look for any further details on Epic Games' website, as well as take a look at the Terms of Participation.
