Fortnite: How To Destroy Those Darned Mechs

Fortnite's new mech vehicle is a major pain for players, so we've come up with some ways to take it out.

The B.R.U.T.E. is a new ground vehicle that was just introduced in Fortnite season 10, and it's giving players quite the headache. Many people have criticized Epic's release of the new vehicle, called a "mech" by some, calling it overpowered and claiming that it has made the game unbalanced. One thing is for certain, it has surely caused a large sized wave of frustration throughout the Fortnite community. If you're one of those players who's sick and tired of getting taken out by one of these mechs, you've come to the right place. Here is everything you need to know to take down season 10's B.R.U.T.E.

It goes without saying that the mech is a force to be reckoned with. It can move quickly with a dash and can attack using its stomp and superjump. A second player can ride in the mech as well, firing a deadly missile barrage that can easily dismantle wooden structures and take out other players. On top of all of that, the mech can harvest materials and use those materials to build itself a protective shield. Taking down a couple of enemy players running around in a mech can be tough, but it's not impossible.

Firstly, it's important to highlight the mech's weak points. If you're in range, the very first thing you want to focus on is damaging the driver. The gunner is given a protective shield, but the driver is not. If you can quickly take out the driver, you can immobilize the mech, making it easier for you to get around it and refocus your fire on the gunner. The gunner's protective shield can be taken out with a few rounds of focused fire, leaving them vulnerable. As far as attacking the mech, the most important thing to remember is to try to take aim for the players inside. If you spend too much time focusing on the mech itself, you won't have a high chance at surviving.

Secondly, you'll want to know what weapons will work the best when taking on one of these mechs. Explosives are most certainly your best bet here. Weapons like the proximity launcher, grenade launcher, and the RPG work wonders because they can do a lot of damage over a lot of space, giving you an opportunity to hopefully damage both the mech and the players inside with one attack. If you can't get your hands on any explosives, the next best weapon is going to be the drum gun. The drum gun can take out more than half of a mech's hit points with one well-aimed round. It does an impressive 184 dps when the gun is a rare drop, and 176 dps when uncommon.

As far as defenses... well there isn't much. If you're on a flat slab of ground, you can turbo build yourself underneath a pyramid, which will defend you from the mech's stomp and missile barrage attacks. Other than that, it's important to move quickly, and use your ammo efficiently. Remember, the guy in the mech is just another player, and another player can always be outsmarted! Try your best to be prepared, and stay one step ahead. Oh, and good luck!
