Just when you think Fortnite has crossed over with just about everything, Epic Games will go ahead and throw its players a curveball. This particular curveball might be the most unexpected so far, as the battle royale game has teamed up with the creators of Junji Ito Maniac to bring what might well be its creepiest creative island yet to life.

Originally a web series, Junji Ito Maniac was added to Netflix last month. That's likely why the spooky anime has now been given the Fortnite treatment. A chance for new fans to take a deep dive into some of the show's elements, and hopefully a way to steer Fortnite players to the Netflix show too. As for those of you already familiar with Junji Ito Maniac, as you can see, quite a few of its elements have been used to create what has been dubbed the Haunted House.

The island is made up of five customized maps and has been created with the help of Neighbor Metaverse Studios (thanks, Comicbook.com). While walking around the house will certainly lead to a jumpscare or two, the creepiest part of the island might well be the ominous floating heads. Get your crying in-fear emote ready and start swinging your axe as you hover towards them.

If you want to pay the Junji Ito Maniac island a visit, then you'll need to enter the code 9800-8851-4190 into Fortnite Creative. No, there won't be easter eggs and elements from the show littered around the regular island. Even though the likes of Predator and Alien's Xenomorph have been added to the main game, some of the stuff from the Maniac island might be a little much for kids playing the game.

While adding the likes of Spider-Man and Darth Vader to Fortnite will always make business sense, Epic appears to have realized there's money to be made through anime collaborations this past six months or so. Its first Dragon Ball team-up was followed by a second one this week, and My Hero Academia characters landed on the island to kick off chapter four.
