God of War's Kratos will be the next skin in Fortnite's latest crossover.

Players will be taking a PlayStation legend into battle soon as a Kratos skin is being added to the latest season of Fortnite. The game has seen a number of crossovers recently including The Mandalorian, Avengers: Endgame, and John Wick, although this is one of the rare occasions where Fornite teams up with another existing gaming property.

PlayStation teased the news on Twitter earlier today, with a video letting fans know that the next crossover event will be with a man who's slain Gods with his bare hands. The rumors were then swiftly confirmed by Twitter user @HYPEX who is a reliable source on Fornite leaks.

This could be a slightly momentous occasion, as it is the first time a major character from an exclusive franchise has made the leap to Fortnite. There have been plenty of crossover events with film properties like Star Wars and Marvel, but this opens the door to plenty of other crossover events otherwise thought unlikely.

For example, this could mean that we could see big Microsoft properties in future crossover events, as the publisher is friendlier to the idea of their properties appearing in other titles like Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. It's an exciting time to be a fan of Fortnite, and we'll likely see more ambitious crossovers later down the line.
