Fortnite has crossed over with Star Wars a couple of times now. Like its relationship with Marvel though, the bond remains. In fact, there have been a couple of hints the next Star Wars crossover is fast-approaching, and this one might bring Luke Skywalker to the island.

The hype for Luke's arrival began when the trailer for season four debuted. Some players remain adamant they saw the Jedi floating in a bacta tank. That has been neither confirmed nor denied by Epic Games, but the game's dedicated team of data miners has solidified the belief that really could be Luke, floating there waiting for the right time to enter The Loop.

Further hints that Luke is coming to Fortnite come from Hypex (via Forbes). Hypex revealed Epic has some Star Wars challenges waiting in the wings that will be unleashed at some point during season four. However, the biggest indicator Luke will be a part of the next crossover has taken the form of two new lightsabers discovered in Fortnite's files.

That's right, if these pretty telling leaks are anything to go by, not only will Luke be making his Fortnite debut, but lightsabers will be returning as well. An incredibly popular weapon whenever they pop up in Fortnite, and codenames in the game's files imply Luke's lightsabers from A New Hope and Return of the Jedi will be available this time around.

The only reason all of the above should be taken with a pinch of salt is the lack of a reason for Star Wars and Fortnite to team up in season four. Lightsabers returned and new characters from the series were added to coincide with Obi-Wan's launch on Disney Plus. It already feels too late for a collaboration to celebrate Andor, and adding Luke in that instance would be a little odd anyway. After that, the next Star Wars series won't be here until February 2023 when season three of The Mandalorian begins.
