Fortnite Meteoric Rise Challenges Are Live - Here’s How To Earn Legendary Skin 'The Scientist'

Fortnite's Meteoric Rise Challenges are live right now. Here's all seven of them, and what you'll need to do to get your hands on the grand prize: the Scientist skin.

As we delve deeper and deeper into what has been a controversial Season X in Fortnite, a whole new bunch of challenges dropped this weekend: The Meteoric Rise challenge pack. Work your way through the challenges and earn a whole bunch of battle stars. Complete all seven, and you'll earn the incredibly cool looking Scientist skin.

If you think you have seen the Scientist somewhere before, chances are you have. The character has paid a visit to Fortnite Island before. That time, we referred to him as The Visitor, and he launched the rocket which caused the very first rift in Fortnite's sky. Significant, since that act has effectively led to everything that has happened in-game since storyline-wise.

As mentioned above, there are seven challenges to complete in total. Most of them are tweaks on challenges we have seen before. Eliminate seven opponents in rift zones, search chests or ammo boxes in rift zones... that sort of thing. However, some are a little trickier this time around. Touch a giant glowing cube, enter the Rift above Loot Lake, and search a landing pod within a meteor, for example.

Players will receive 10 battle stars for each challenge for the first three they complete. Conquer a fourth, and you'll land yourself the Meteor Man back bling. Then, it's more battle stars for challenges five and six, and finally, the much-coveted Scientist skin once you have managed to finish off all seven. The seven challenges are as follows:

  • Destroy structures with Junk Rifts (10)
  • Visit different Rift Zones in the same match (3)
  • Eliminate opponents in Rift Zones (7)
  • Search chests or ammo boxes in Rift Zones (20)
  • Land in a Rift Zone and place Top 10 in Solo, Duos, or Squads (1)
  • Consume Glitched Foraged items with different effects (4)
  • Touch a giant glowing cube, enter the Rift above Loot Lake, and search a landing pod within a meteor (3)

If history is anything to go by, players will have until the end of this current season to complete the Meteoric Rise challenges. While we don't know for certain, it seems as if Season X will come to an end on October 10, 2019. That gives you a little less than a month from the time of typing this to unlock The Scientist. So what are you waiting for? Grab your axe and get going.
