An event that appears to be imminently taking place in Fortnite could give players the chance to bring back vaulted weapons.

The fast pace at which Epic rolls out Fortnite updates means that it is very much a trial and error scenario, which is one of the benefits of offering a game to the world for free. If there are issues with updates, then players can't complain too much since they haven't paid anything to play it. That doesn't stop them from complaining anyway, but you get the premise.

This means items and elements are often added to the game before they have been thoroughly tested for bugs and such. Epic leaves that to its millions of players and then fixes any issues afterward, which makes sense if you ask us. However, if something receives too much criticism, even after tweaks, then it is removed from the game, or "vaulted."

One of the main reasons for vaulting something is due to it being overpowered, particularly when it comes to weapons. However, as reported by Dexerto, recent leaks suggest that Epic could be holding a Fortnite event focused around weapons that have been previously vaulted from the game. The rumors began when an image of the Drum Gun was shown on a screen at Loot Lake.

The Drum Gun is a perfect example of an overpowered weapon disappearing from Fortnite. Its massive magazine and intense firepower made it an incredibly coveted weapon for close range combat. However, it seems as if it may make a return for something being dubbed the Nexus Event. The aforementioned leaks suggest that players will have the opportunity to vote for which vaulted items they would like to see return.

If this Nexus Event does come to fruition, we are assuming it will be for a limited time only. So don't get your hopes up if you're thinking of seeing Drum Guns and Revolvers return to the regular game modes for the long haul. We are big fans of chaos and anarchy on Fortnite though, hence our current obsession with the Endgame LTM, so a map loaded with overpowered weapons sounds like a great idea to us.
