Fortnite's v14.20 update drops today and it will include a Wolverine boss, third birthday celebrations, and a brand new LTM mode.

The fourth season of Marvel's second chapter might well have been the most action-packed season in Fortnite history thus far. Today marks the beginning of week five and the arrival of another pretty big update. Epic doesn't offer up official patch notes anymore, but we have already discovered some of the biggest changes brought about by the patch.

Biggest of all, it's Fortnite's birthday. Well, actually it was Fortnite's birthday back in July when the game officially turned three. Epic decided to hold off on the celebrations this year for some reason, maybe due to the ongoing issues it's having with Apple, with some players thinking they had been canceled completely. That won't be the case, and new birthday challenges will be dropping over the weekend with plenty of XP up for grabs. There will also be some free birthday-themes cosmetics to be handed out.

Season four is all about Marvel, of course, hence it being so eventful. Even though this season is teeming with heroes, Epic has continued the trend of giving battle pass owners one skin, in particular, to unlock via completing special challenges. This season, it's Wolverine. The v14.20 brings a Wolverine Boss to the island in the form of Weapon X. He is hiding out in Weeping Woods. Players who defeat him will be rewarded with Wolverine's Claws. There's also a rumor that Blade will join the fight later this season.

It might be nothing more than a distraction to those who play Fortnite for the victory royales, but its in-game concerts are big business. This weekend, Fortnite might well be hosting its biggest music event to date. Korean pop sensations BTS will be performing their new single live on the Party Royale island at 8 pm on Friday, September 25, 2020. There will be a repeat performance at 8 am the next morning for anyone who misses it.

Last but not least, a brand new Marvel LTM will likely be live by the time you read this. This latest LTM is called Takeover. It requires teams of players to find and occupy outposts for as long as they possibly can, while simultaneously preventing rival teams from doing the same. Every player will start with one randomly assigned superpower but can add more to their loadout by tracking and finding fallen comets.
