Even though it has left its early access status for quite a while now, Fortnite is still receiving weekly updates and constant attention from its developers. This is certainly a great thing to see especially since it's already been four years since Fortnite's Battle Royale game mode was first released.
A recent update added the Chili Chug Splash, a new item that works similarly to the Chug Splash - this variant works just like the original version but this one will provide you a speed boost. This same update is what introduced the new Rune selectable styles.
If you've fully explored Chapter Two Season Eight's Battle Pass you will have noticed that it's filled with tons of different selectable styles for most outfits. These styles are a great way to spice up Battle Pass skins and make them more appealing.
How To Unlock All Rune Styles
Rune Styles have just been added to the roster of Season skins and they're quite hard to get so it's best to start aiming for and working towards that goal as soon as possible.
Although most did, not all outfits received a Rune style variant but the Season has only just started and there's a chance that more will be added further down the line.
Five skins got these new cool styles: Charlotte, Kor, Fabio Sparklemane, J.B. Chimpanski, and Torin. Toona Fish already has a wide range of different selectable styles so a Rune Toona Fish wouldn't be too odd. Carnage on the other hand might look somewhat strange with these styles but it isn't entirely impossible.
There are three different Rune colors: Blue, Purple, and Gold, each one is a bit harder to unlock than the one before.
Blue Rune Styles
To unlock Blue Rune styles you have to:
- Claim 110 rewards from the Battle Pass
- Claim 10 bonus rewards from the Battle Pass
- Reach level 140
Purple Rune Styles
To unlock Purple Rune styles you have to:
- Claim 115 rewards from the Battle Pass
- Claim 15 bonus rewards from the Battle Pass
- Reach level 140
Golden Rune Styles
To unlock Golden Rune styles you have to:
- Claim 120 rewards from the Battle Pass
- Claim 20 bonus rewards from the Battle Pass
- Reach level 140
Some of these prerequisites are quite hard to meet. Reaching level 140 during the Season is certainly a feat that will require you to play quite regularly throughout the Season and complete as many challenges as you can to get as many experience points as possible.
It's tough but definitely worth it if you have enough free time on your hands. Depending on the Rune color, certain aspects of the outfit will change accordingly. Their clothes, tattoos, eyes, and hair color are the most noticeable changes with these Rune styles. It certainly makes the skin look much better.
