Aquaman isn't the only DC-related element to have landed in what is now a very wet version of Fortnite for Season 3.

Fortnite won the award for best crossover events a long time ago, yet it continues to push that popular envelope. In particular, its ongoing relationships with both Marvel and DC continue to pick up a lot of traction. Deadpool flew the Marvel flag throughout Season 2, and now Aquaman has taken his place in Season 3 as DC returns to the fold.

Fitting considering the amount of water on the map right now. We wonder if the water-based DC hero was lurking in that wall of water towards the end of Season 2? Other DC heroes to have made appearances in Fortnite include Batman, who had his own crossover event in 2019, and Harley Quinn whose skins were added to the game in conjunction with the release of Birds of Prey.

Turns out Aquaman isn't the only nod to DC to have arrived in-game this season. Players have started to discover a pretty neat Easter Egg that has taken the form of a Fortnite achievement. It revolves around another addition to the game ushered in by Season 3, Loot Sharks. More specifically, doing damage to Loot Sharks, which is easier said than done.

Once players have dolled out 1966 worth of damage to Loot Sharks, they will unlock an achievement dubbed "Shark Repellent". There are two reasons why this is a cool reference to Adam West's Batman. West first played Batman in 1966, hence the amount of damage that needs to be done to unlock the achievement. The name of the achievement refers to a scene in the Batman movie West appeared in that same year. West uses a can of Shark Repellent to fend off an incoming shark.

Unfortunately for Fortnite players, Shark Repellent isn't an item available to them in-game, at least not yet. For those who haven't experienced this already, Loot Sharks are hungry enough for human flesh that they will leap out of the water in order to get it. They can even destroy buildings! A spritz of West's repellent wouldn't go amiss this season, that's for sure.
