Fortnite Season 4: Dusty Depot Is Now A Crater And Meteor Rocks Are Everywhere

Fortnite has officially launched Season 4, and with it, a myriad of changes to the wildly famous and popular Battle Royale mode in the game.

The changes range from drastic, map changing adjustments, right through to small changes to how the game is organized, and this article is going to take a look as some of the biggest changes to come to Fortnite in Season 4.

Fans speculated that Season 4 would mark the landing of the comet, but Epic Games never verified this until the map was revealed. As players thought, a section of the map has been destroyed, turning Dusty Depot into Dusty Divot.

This impact affected other structures around the landing site, leaving vehicles flipped and other strange craters throughout the other portions of the map.

One of the more interesting aspects to the new craters found throughout the map, the largest being Dusty Divot, is the inclusion of small shards of the meteor  called "Hop Rocks" which, when consumed, give the player a significantly enhanced jump ability for a specific period of time.

There are a few other new additions to the map. An entirely new area called "Risky Reels" is a large drive-in with a broken screen. Many of the areas of the map that players know and love have made change to as well. Moisty Mire is part film set, and there is a superhero base near the Lonely Lodge as well. In contrast with the superhero base, there is a super-villain base at the other side of the map near Snobby Shores.

Alongside the changes to the physical map, players will see that the screen for choosing game mode has been changed and the second version of the "50 vs. 50" mode has been removed.

Players can also do one more very new thing, which is sprays. Season 4 seems to centre around two big themes, superheroes & villains, as well as graffiti. For those who want to leave their mark on a specific place on the map, the players can choose from sprays that are purchased, or earned through the Battle Pass.

The changes to Fortnite for Season 4 are vast, and players will likely be discovering more as time continues to pass and they have more time to explore the map. Plus, Epic Games will likely always be changing aspects of the game, so players will have a lot to look forward to.
