Fortnite season eight has officially begun, bringing yet another Marvel character to the island. Carnage, the symbiote villain making its big-screen debut next month in Venom 2.
It's Fortnite season switch over time again. Season seven came to an end over the weekend as players were beamed up into the mothership that has been hovering over the island for months. Although the task of bringing it down was achieved, those who took part in the event also discovered an old foe: Kevin the Cube.
Kevin has now returned to the island along with an army of fellow cubes. There's an entirely new arrival to mark the start of season eight, though. Yet another Marvel character has been added to the mix: Carnage. The symbiote showed its Fortnite face for the first time in season eight's Battle Pass trailer which you can check out below.
As players are issued a warning by those who have returned via the cubes, a close-up of Carnage is shown. The skin is pretty accurate when compared to how Venom's nemesis will look in Venom: Let There Be Carnage which arrives in theaters on October 1. One of the more terrifying options to be added to Fortnite which further proves the game isn't just for kids, much like the addition of Predator did earlier this year.
The good news is you won't have to pay for the new Carnage skin, nor its accompanying items. Well, not beyond the price of a Battle Pass. The bad news is becoming Carnage is going to take some serious grinding. Epic introduced a system last season allowing Battle Pass owners to earn stars and use them to unlock various items.
Those stars can be used to unlock Carnage and everything that comes with it. However, the skin and all of its cosmetics can be found on page ten of the Battle Pass. In fact, everything on page ten is Carnage-related. That means reaching level 90 or unlocking 90 other rewards before those items can be chosen. Whether you level up or unlock 90 rewards, it's probably going to be a while before you see an island full of Carnages.
