Despite splitting the Fortnite community and Epic Games needing to fix a number of issues with it, the Shockwave Hammer remains a part of the game, for the time being at least. Another glitch that appears to be affecting a few players might well be the final straw for the new weapon, though. A bug that leaves the user in a permanent state of levitation.

The ability to levitate in Fortnite actually sounds kinda good. In reality, the glitch is a problem and not one you can expect players to be exploiting anytime soon. Remarkable-Ask2149 posted evidence of the glitch affecting them on Reddit. After trying to bounce with the weapon, the player permanently assumes a stance that leaves them holding up the hammer and hovering a few inches off the ground.

The player is still able to move, hovering from place to place, but that's about it. The only other thing they can do is attempt to bounce again to try and fix the bug, but it just ends back in the hovering pose. Other players have revealed they've run into the issue too, as well as one person admitting they eliminated a player this happened to and now they realize it was a glitch, they feel bad about it.

Therein lies the problem with this particular bug. While players can't purposefully use it to their advantage, it poses a pretty significant disadvantage for anyone who happens upon it. At the time of typing this, the only fix for the bug appears to be getting eliminated, or simply quitting the match and starting a new one.

Despite the new problem being highlighted on Reddit, the Shockwave Hammer doesn't appear to have been fixed or disabled at the time of publication. There's a very strong chance it is vaulted for good if this problem becomes too widespread. It has already been disabled once and had its loadout reduced. The realization that it is now experiencing an entirely different problem could spell the end for the Shockwave Hammer.
