Fortnite players have discovered a way to get under the game's map. It involves using the shopping cart, which is why the vehicle keeps disappearing.
There is currently a war going on in the gaming world. The argument is over which is the ultimate battle royale games, Fortnite or Player Unknown: Battlegrounds. At the moment it's probably fair to say that Fortnite is ahead, at least when it comes to popularity. The higher-ups at Epic Games, the company behind Fortnite, are not sitting on their laurels though and continue to do all that they can to improve the game and keep players interested.
One of the main things PUBG has over Fortnite is vehicles. Epic has put the wheels in motion to change that recently though and introduced the latter's very first mode of transport, a shopping cart. Hardly a tank or a helicopter, but better than nothing. You may have noticed that the shopping cart keeps getting removed from the game only to return and then be pulled again, and this is why.
Due to a bug with the Shopping Cart, we’re temporarily disabling it until we have a fix. We’ll update you once the issue is resolved. 🛠️— Fortnite (@FortniteGame) June 17, 2018
Craftier Fortnite players quickly discovered a glitch with the shopping cart, that it is a portal to getting underneath the map, as highlighted by Euro Gamer. While inside the cart, if a player builds a pyramid over themselves, they mysteriously appear a few feet below the surface. From there they can explore under the map while still being able to see what's going on above ground, meaning they can gun down rival players without their opponents even knowing they're there.
Epic is obviously very hot on these things, so once the shopping cart was reactivated recently it took just two hours for them to disable it again. Plenty of players took advantage of the glitch in that time though, and you can check out the advantages of being under the map in the video above. You can even get the cart down there with you if you spam it a little.
It's all fun and games, quite literally, but at this point, it seems as if Epic might decide to permanently disable shopping carts from Fortnite. They seem to be struggling to find a fix and if players continue to get taken out by opponents they can't even see well, that naturally isn't going to sit well with a lot of people. Keep an eye out for the return of Fortnite's shopping carts but don't be surprised if the constant meddling with them means they never return to the game.
