Thanos may be making landfall in Fortnite once again. A Twitter user named Skin-Tracker posted what appears to be a data mine of upcoming Kill Feed messages. These phrases refer to the messages that appear on the screen when a player is killed, such as "took the L." If you look near the bottom of the second picture, you'll notice that Thanos is mentioned.

"Yielded to the power of Thanos," the message reads, which might indicate that players will be able to kill others as Thanos. There are also other messages of note here, such as "zapped out of the sky" and "unleashed an inferno on." Strangely, the Cube is also mentioned.

If this data mine is accurate, it sounds like big things are coming to Fortnite. With Avengers: Endgame releasing this month, it would make sense for Epic to bring back the Infinity Gauntlet Limited Time Mode. After all, this mode was released before Fortnite came to Nintendo Switch and therefore many players never had a chance to play as Thanos.

The Infinity Gauntlet LTM originally launched on May 8th, 2018 to coincide with the release of Avengers: Infinity War. Though the mode appears to be the standard Battle Royale Solo at first, everything changes when the Infinity Gauntlet lands on the map. Upon grabbing it, the player turns into Thanos. As the villain, the character now has over double health and shield and their attacks do massive damage.

Although Thanos can't use materials, it doesn't matter since he can jump and slam into whole forts. Because of how overpowered he is, it's nearly impossible for any one player to win. This encourages brief alliances among players to defeat Thanos. When Thanos loses, the Infinity Gauntlet is up for grabs again and the cycle continues.

It's important to note that some of these Kill messages could be referring to new additions for Creative. It doesn't seem likely that the Cube will be brought back in the main modes, as an example. However, with the Infinity Gauntlet LTM being so popular, and the upcoming Endgame movie, it seems likely that Thanos will be returning for competitive play.

Fortnite is currently in its eighth season. New areas have opened up, such as a volcano, and the replacement of Lazy Links with Lazy Lagoon. We should know soon if Thanos is indeed coming back to perfectly balance all things in the Fortnite universe.
