Fortnite is bringing back the Mad Titan, with the Thanos Cup set to kick off on June 21. The event will have you competing in Duos matches to earn exclusive rewards ahead of their arrival in the item shop – including the Thanos Outfit and Back Bling inspired By Avengers: Endgame.
The Thanos Cup will be your first chance to unlock Thanos as a playable character, although you’ll find most of the rewards available in the Item Shop later this month on June 26. Here’s a quick rundown of what the Thanos Cup has to offer – although, if you’re familiar with Fortnite tournaments, this one is nearly identical to those of the past:
- Compete in 10 Duos matches.
- The event will run for approximately three hours.
- Top-performing teams in each region will earn the Thanos Outfit and Infinity Gauntlet Back Bling. The number of winners varies by region – check here for details.
- Earn 8 points and you’ll be rewarded with the Thanos Watches! Spray.
- Epic Account must be at least level 30.
- Two-Factor Authentication must be enabled.
Fortnite just wrapped up the UEFA EURO 2020 Cup, giving you a chance to earn a bunch of soccer – or football – related cosmetics. The Thanos Cup looks to do much the same, although instead of taking place over two days it's limited to a single three-hour event.
If you don’t manage to be one of the top-performing players for your region, you’ll still be able to pick up the Thanos Outfit and Back Bling on June 26 when a bunch of Marvel gear returns to the Item Shop. It’s also worth pointing out that even if you do manage to win some cool swag during the Thanos Cup, Epic said it could take a few days for the rewards to appear in your inventory.
