With the end of Fortnite Season 8 rapidly approaching, some players believe that Tilted Towers might be leveled soon.
Season 8 of Fortnite has absolutely flown by. It feels as if this go-around of the game has only just begun. We haven't even unlocked the Peely skin yet. Plus, we are already dreading the Endgame Limited Time Mode coming to an end. We are thoroughly enjoying the chaos that comes once there are only one or two Infinity Stones left to collect.
Our only solace is that Fortnite has a great track record when it comes to keeping us interested. Just because a season packed with changes and an LTM we can't get enough of will be coming to an end, that doesn't mean the fun will stop down on Fortnite Island. The arrival of Season 9 is imminent and you can guarantee that Epic has something pretty big planned to kick it off.
In fact, some players are of the belief that major changes are coming. Epic has not been backward in pushing forward when it comes to changing Fortnite's map. The island is almost unrecognizable from how it looked a few seasons ago, let alone compared to day one. The next rumored change could be the most controversial one to date, though. The destruction of Tilted Towers.
We're seeing reports of textures still not properly loading in Retail Row and Tilted towers. This occurs predominantly in Endgame and Playgrounds, across all platforms. We're working on a fix for this issue and well update you when we have more information.— Fortnite (@FortniteGame) April 28, 2019
The rumor has arisen out of low texture issues Epic has been trying to fix, reports Gamerant. The affected areas are Tilted Towers and Retail Row, and some Fortnite fans believe those are the affected areas due to them being subject to change between now and the start of Season 9. Perhaps the areas of the map could be wiped out after the game's volcano erupts.
Though there has been no confirmation that the volcano will erupt, it seems incredibly likely that it will. There is usually a massive end of season event and an eruption would definitely make sense. That eruption could force us to say goodbye to Tilted Towers or it might just leave it needing a serious remodel. It wouldn't be the first time that area of the map has been altered.
