It is impossible for everyone to share the same opinions. There are opinions that are mostly agreed upon in the Fortnite community. And there are also unpopular opinions that inevitably stand out.

10 The Star Wand Isn't A Good Cosmetic Item
The Star Wand pickaxe is one of the most popular pickaxes at the moment. It is used by a lot of competitive Fortnite players. It is speculated that this all began because there was a glitch that caused it to do more damage than other pickaxes.
Regardless, it is still abundantly used in the community. Reddit user u/FormulaToast3 calls it "ugly and sweaty" and adds that it works very few skins, therefore there is no reason for it to be so common now that the bug has been fixed.
9 The Shockwave Bow Is As Bad As Mechs
There is a variety of new weapons that were added to the game when this most recent season began. The shockwave bow is one of the types of bows that players can craft.
The bow works like a shockwave grenade, you shoot an arrow and it causes an impact similar to that of the grenade, although slightly less powerful. Reddit user u/Trapped_In_Utah feels that this is just too powerful. Especially given the fact you can have more arrows than you can shockwave grenades and, on top of that, it also does damage.
8 Zombies Are A Good Addition To Fortnitemares
Fortnitemares is a seasonal event in Fortnite that happens around Halloween. Although there are some changes each year, what fans dislike most about it is the zombies that spawn around the map.
Reddit user u/datdoge5 admits to enjoying the zombies' presence in the game. Something that most of the Fortnite community would not agree with. Although they provide shields once killed and occasionally drop loot, they can be quite bothersome and persistent. They take a decent chunk of damage and can also destroy buildings and player structures.
7 The Reaper Wasn't A Good Tier 100 Skin
The Reaper is one of the most notorious skins in the entire game. It was also known as the John Wick skin before there was an actual John Wick skin in the game. Back when Fortnite's first became popular, there were countless memes regarding this skin. People would fear seeing The Reaper in a match, they were especially known for their building skills.
Most Fortnite fans love The Reaper skin, however, Reddit user u/mrjuxxememe just doesn't think that it's a good enough skin to be a tier 100 Battle Pass skin.
6 Mechanical Parts Are Too Easy To Find
Mechanical parts became a big part of the game this season when Epic Games introduced crafting. There are two major weapon categories: primal weapons and mechanical weapons. The way it works is that players have to craft makeshift weapons into either one of these two types.
Finding mechanical parts is crucial because you can't craft mechanical weapons without them. There are specific ways to farm them but Reddit user u/FortniteWonders thinks that mechanical parts should be more difficult to come across.
5 Old Battle Pass Skins Should Return
Battle pass items don't make a return, it's always been this way since the beginning of the game. Many players like to show off their older "OG" skins and emotes. There is also a small minority of players that believe that these old battle pass items should come back.
This opinion is definitely not shared among the community not only because veterans of the game like how exclusive it feels but also because Epic has said it various times before that battle pass items will not return.
4 Bot Lobbies Are More Fun
A while ago bots were added to Fortnite. Even most games casual games will have a couple of bots. Those that don't like playing against bots have to play arena or scrims.
There are ways to create bot lobbies. Certain fans do this to make it easier to complete certain challenges that require players to be the first in the match to reach a goal, for example unlocking the Lara Croft gold anniversary style.
And, although most of the community doesn't feel the same way, Reddit user u/Therealpyroland156 believes that bot lobbies are simply more fun.
3 Emotes Can't Be Toxic
There are hundreds of Fortnite emotes and some of them... just aren't used in the nicest ways. For example, Laugh It Up and Take The L are two very generally disliked emotes in the Fortnite community due to their toxic connotation.
Well, Reddit user u/AveragePotatoEnjoyer just doesn't think that this is possible. They don't believe you can use emotes in such a way that it makes them toxic. This a widely unpopular opinion. Especially for those that have had to watch the player that eliminated them emote after doing so.
2 The Primal Shotgun Should Be OP
Reddit user u/Alphagamer126 expressed their unpopular opinion on the FortniteBR subreddit. They believe that the primal shotgun should in fact be overpowered. This is a response to the number of complaints that were made at the beginning of the season about this weapon.
The Legendary pump shotgun is the only gun that can OHKO someone but it relies on the player's accuracy. Therefore if someone misses their shot with the pump, the slow fire rate makes it so they'll get sprayed by someone with a primal shotgun before they can shoot again.
1 Building Isn't Fun
Perhaps the most unpopular opinion and it comes from Reddit user u/pakudesu. They feel like building isn't all that fun and should be disabled or at least heavily tweaked. They suggest a building cooldown or each time that someone places a building, it takes longer for it to be fully built.
The reason why this is so unpopular is because building is what makes this game stand out and feel different than any other Battle Royale. It is the game's main mechanic, it's even in the game's title Fortnite.
