Ninja and Tfue wrote the latest chapter in their epic rivalry over the weekend when they clashed during a Fortnite World Cup qualifier.

With just two months to go until the first ever Fortnite World Cup, the qualifiers for the historic tournament are really starting to heat up. Some well-known players have qualified for the event in New York City, others have qualified for Solo but not Duos, while some big names still haven't booked a place at all.

If the qualifiers are anything to go by, we will see some pretty epic showdowns during the tournament this July. In fact, the best qualifier showdown to date took place this past weekend. Longtime rivals Tfue and Ninja not only wound up in the same match, but they actually did battle one-on-one during a pretty incredible moment.

It was the turn of Duos during this weekend's qualifiers. Tfue paired up with Cloak, while Ninja joined forced with Reverse2K. With Ninja on the high ground and Tfue cooped up in a structure, it looked as if we were going to get a standoff between the two duos. However, like Icarus, Tfue flew a little too close to the sun. In this instance, the sun was an open window that Ninja had his crosshairs trained upon.

Three quickfire shots with a hunting rifle later and Tfue was down. Ninja then saw his opportunity and quickly got close enough to Tfue's structure that he could finish him off using dynamite. Although Ninja didn't stream the moment, Tfue did. It wasn't until his round had been ended by Ninja that he realized who he was dealing with.

As hinted at above, this isn't the first time these two have clashed. They actually have quite the heated rivalry. While Ninja may have won this battle, neither player managed to qualify for the Duos portion of the Fortnite World Cup. Ninja and Reverse 2K finished seventh after winning three of their ten matches, while Tfue and Cloak were in a distant 13th.

Stay tuned folks, as things will only get more intense as the World Cup draws closer.
