Racers in Forza Horizon 4 have long enjoyed cruising through Britain on Xbox and Windows via Game Pass. Microsoft Studios is expanding that reach today, as the publisher announced Forza Horizon 4 will come to Steam next month, March 9, and mark the series first entry to the platform.

You'll be able to wishlist Forza Horizon 4 starting today, setting you up for notifications on the game's launch next month. If you've already got buddies enjoying the racer on Xbox consoles, Windows 10, or Android devices, you'll also be able to join them. Forza Horizon 4 on Steam supports crossplay, so you'll join the millions of other automotive enthusiasts on all platforms.

Steam drivers will enjoy the same functionality others have for years in Forza Horizon 4 as battle royale racing modes like the Eliminator and community-created challenges like Super7 accompany the Steam release. The Fortune Island and Lego Speed Champions expansions also accompany the game's Steam debut and will be available for purchase next month alongside the Best of Bond and Barrett Jackson Car Packs.

This Forza release marks the first time a game from the series has ever launched on Steam, but it joins a growing list of other titles from Xbox Game Studios like Halo 4, Sea of Thieves, and Gears 5, among others, hopefully marking the beginning of a trend for future Forza releases.

Just last month, Windows Central's Jez Corden stated he knew of two other Xbox titles that would be coming this year, but just hadn't been announced yet. The remark on The Xbox Two podcast left fans speculating, many of which hope it could be a follow-up to 2018's Forza Horizon 4, in the form of Forza Horizon 5. The speculation continues, as this news also dropped just on the heels of Microsoft's acquisition of ZeniMax.

On other platforms, Forza Horizon 4 also has bundle options available outside of the standard release, including a Deluxe Edition which includes the Car Pass, and an Ultimate Edition that will net you almost everything.
