Forza Horizon 5 developer Playground Games has announced that the game is now available to pre-load on Xbox consoles. Pre-loading might even be a good idea as Forza Horizon 5 is going to be a lengthy download for some, taking up 103GB of free space on Xbox Series X and PC, and even more on Xbox One consoles.

The announcement was made on the official Forza Horizon Twitter account earlier today, accompanied by a blog post on the official Forza Motorsport website. The post includes the specific file sizes of each version of Forza Horizon 5, including an explanation as to why the file size is smaller on Series X than on Xbox One. Pre-loading isn't currently available on PC just yet, but the developer says to keep an eye on its social media channles for more info coming soon.

It's no surprise that Forza Horizon 5 has a whopping file size consdiering the amount of stuff is going to be included on launch day. Not only will the game contain over 400 vehicles for players to get behind the wheel of, the map is also going to be 1.5 times bigger than the map from Forza Horizon 4.

On top of that, Forza Horizon 5 will also include an incredibly in-depth race creator called EventLab that promises to let players build tracks wherever they want. The amount of stuff players will immediately have access to on the day of release is staggering, and it's no wonder the game is going to take up a pretty hefty chunk of free space.

Forza Horizon 5 is expected to launch next month on November 9 for PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X. If you'd like to know more about the game before you decide to buy, you can read our preview by our very own George Foster who describes the game as an "ultra-rewarding driving game" that has been "tuned up as tightly as possible and wrapped in another beautiful environment."
