Turn10 has confirmed that there won't be a native Xbox One version of Forza Motorsport, debunking previous rumours that claimed it would release on both current-gen and last-gen consoles.

Just a few days ago, Xbox hosted its first Developer_Direct, giving us more details on Redfall, Minecraft Legends, The Elder Scrolls Online, and the newly-announced and released Hi-Fi Rush. Although most of the games at the show got given a firm release date, the one outlier was Forza Motorsport, which had a detailed gameplay deep dive but was still tagged with "2023" at the end.

One thing that wasn't mentioned during the Developer_Direct was that there won't be a native Xbox One version of Forza Motorsport. As confirmed by a blog post on the Forza Motorsport support site, Xbox One players will be able to play Forza Motorsport through a cloud version that's included with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.

The post reads, "Forza Motorsport has been built from the ground up to leverage the full power and performance of Xbox Series X|S consoles and deliver our most beautiful, technically advanced game yet. While there will not be a native Xbox One version of the game, Xbox One players can stream Forza Motorsport through Xbox Cloud Gaming (Beta) included in Xbox Game Pass Ultimate."

Interestingly, this goes against a leak from last year that suggested that Forza Motorsport would be getting an Xbox One release as well as Xbox Series and PC. Images popped up on the GamingLeaksAndRumours subreddit that showed a pre-release version of Forza Motorsport that was captured on an Xbox One. The images were authenticated by moderators for the subreddit as being both legitimate and from the Xbox One version of the game.

However, it's worth noting that those images come from July 2021, which seems to suggest that Turn10 was initially trying to get the game on as many consoles as possible, but gave it up to focus on a current-gen release, which makes sense considering the long list of technical improvements that were mentioned during the Developer_Direct.
