At the beginning of every Forza Horizon game (other than the first), you get to choose your starter car. Most starter cars in the Forza Horizon series aren't the best, but they’ve come a long way. In fact, the three starter cars in Forza Horizon 5 are some of the best cheap cars in the entire game.

In Forza Horizon 5, you could drive 13 of the 14 starter cars in the series. Sadly, the 2014 BMW Z4 sDrive35is isn’t in the game, but it is still included in this list. Here are all of the starter cars in the Forza Horizon series, ranked from worst to best.

14 1995 Volkswagen Corrado VR6

The 1995 Volkswagen Corrado VR6 is the first car you get the pleasure of driving in the entire Forza Horizon series. It’s the only starter car in the original Forza Horizon game released back in 2012.

With a top speed of 145 mph and a 0-60 mph time of 6.7 seconds, this retro hot hatch is pretty quick. Sadly, once you get behind the wheel, it’s as mediocre as it gets. The Corrado VR6 doesn't really excel at anything.

13 1969 Chevrolet Camaro SS Coupe

The 1969 Chevrolet Camaro SS Coupe is one of the starter cars in Forza Horizon 2. It’s a classic American muscle car. The Camaro SS has a solid top speed of 139 mph and can accelerate from 0-60 mph in 6.4 seconds, but like most muscle cars, it has dreadful handling.

If you’re looking for a good drag racer, the Camaro SS is the car for you. Slap on some slick tires and it’s good to go.

12 1969 Dodge Charger R/T

The year 1969 sure was a great time for muscle cars. The Dodge Charger R/T may be the most recognizable muscle car of the bunch and is one of the starter cars in Forza Horizon 4.

With a top speed of 141 mph and a 0-60 mph time of 6 seconds, the Charger R/T is one of the most impressive muscle cars ever made. Its handling isn’t the best, but for drag racing, you can’t go wrong with the Charger R/T.

11 2000 Nissan Silvia Spec-R

The 2000 Nissan Silvia Spec-R is one of the ultimate tuner cars in the world. It’s a starter car in Forza Horizon 3 and was a popular choice among players.

The Silvia Spec-R has a top speed of 157 mph and a 0-60 mph time of 5.5 seconds. That low top speed and high acceleration, combined with the tunability of the car, make the Silvia a top-tier option for drifting.

10 1998 Toyota Supra RZ

When talking about iconic tuner cars, you can’t leave out the 1998 Toyota Supra RZ. The Supra RZ is one of the starter cars in Forza Horizon 2 and is still a fan favorite, even in Forza Horizon 5.

The Supra has a top speed of 176 mph and 0-60 mph time of 5.3 seconds, which means it's great for street racing and drifting. You could tune the Supra RZ to have more turbochargers than you’ll know what to do with, making it a blast to drive.

9 2014 HSV Limited Edition Gen-F GTS Maloo

Nothing screams Australia more than a 2014 HSV Limited Edition Gen-F GTS Maloo equipped with a roo bar. Unsurprisingly, the HSV GTS Maloo is one of the starter cars in Forza Horizon 3, which is set in the land down under.

The car tops out at 175 mph and can accelerate from 0-60 mph in just 4.1 seconds. It’s great for race starts and does very well in the unpopular vans and utility category.

8 2021 Ford Bronco

On the surface, the Ford Bronco looks like an underwhelming C-class car, but it's actually one of the best off-road cars in Forza Horizon 5. You can’t go wrong with any of the starter cars in Forza Horizon 5 because your choice ultimately doesn’t matter since you’ll get all three cars for free anyway.

The Ford Bronco might only have a top speed of 136 mph and a 0-60 mph time of 6.9 seconds, but this car is built for off-road racing.

7 2015 Audi TTS Coupe

The 2015 Audi TTS Coupe is one of the starter cars in Forza Horizon 4. The car doesn’t handle particularly well for a lightweight sports car, but other than that, it’s a solid starter car.

With a top speed of 187 mph and a 0-60 mph time of 5.1 seconds, the Audi TTS is a capable rally racer with an AWD tune. That being said, it’s surprisingly underwhelming as a road racer.

6 2011 BMW Z4 sDrive35is

The BMW Z4 sDrive35is is the only car on this list that you can’t get behind the wheel of in Forza Horizon 5. It’s a real shame too because this Forza Horizon 2 starter car would've been the perfect car to go cruising through the beautiful country of Mexico with the top down.

The Z4 sDrive35is has a top speed of 181 mph and can go 0-60 mph in 4.7 seconds. On top of that, it even has good handling, making it one of the best A-class road racers in Forza Horizon 4.

5 2017 Ford Focus RS

The Ford Focus RS may be the most underrated starter car in the entire Forza Horizon series. Yes, this Forza Horizon 4 starter car is that good. While it might not be the class of the super hot hatch category anymore, it was one of the best cars in the series for a while.

With a top speed of 172 mph and a 0-60 mph time of 4.4 seconds, the Focus RS is an incredible machine that's capable of winning races on the track and in the mud.

4 2020 Toyota GR Supra

The new and improved Toyota GR Supra sure is a looker. Not only is this Forza Horizon 5 starter car absolutely stunning, but it’s also a monster on the track as well.

The Supra has a top speed of 187 mph and can go 0-60 mph in just 3.6 seconds. It’s a beast that can dominate road races and may even help you get three stars in some drift zones with the right tune.

3 2014 BMW M4 Coupe

The BMW M Series cars are some of the most well-designed vehicles in the world and the 2014 M4 Coupe is no exception. The M4 Coupe is one of the starter cars in Forza Horizon 3. That game is loaded with great starter cars.

The M4 Coupe has a top speed of 197 mph and a 0-60 mph time of 3.9 seconds. It’s perfect for sprint and circuit races because it’s one of the faster cars in a straight line.

2 2016 Ford Shelby GT350R

The 2016 Ford Shelby GT350R is one of just two S1 class starter cars in the Forza Horizon series. It’s essentially a souped-up Ford Mustang so it’s very fun to drive.

With a top speed of 189 mph and a 0-60 mph time of 3.9 seconds, the Shelby GT350R doesn’t seem very impressive compared to other S1 cars, but it makes up for it with solid handling and braking.

1 2020 Chevrolet C8 Corvette Stingray

The 2020 Chevrolet C8 Corvette Stingray is a starter car in Forza Horizon 5 and can be tuned to be one of the fastest cars in the game. It’s the best starter car in the Forza Horizon series because it’s good at everything.

It has a top speed of 198 mph and can go 0-60 mph in just 2.8 seconds. Those are supercar numbers. In terms of handling, you could take some tight corners flat out with the C8 Corvette. It has absolutely zero weaknesses.
