A goofy tale about an amphibian detective was something we didn't know we needed and certainly don't deserve. But we've been blessed by Grace Bruxner, who has allowed us to play as one! Frog Detective is a game enjoyed by many for its cute art style and silly humor.
The Frog Detective is clearly one of the best detectives around (perhaps the only one around), but may there be some other worthy opponents in the smarty-pants department? Let's take a look and find out.
10 Fresh X
This guy ain't no ordinary ghost scientist. No sir, he is a rad Brad with a killer smile. Look into his eyes. This is the face of someone who knows not to push his limits when it comes to working hard on an island in the middle of nowhere.
Fresh X ain't gonna let no ghost nor monkey in a coat tell him what to do when it's time for his break. Breaks rejuvenize us and allow us to continue working with a clear headspace. He knows what he's doing!
9 Bernie
Bernie may seem like a useless character, but he has a point when he begins his spew about secret agents. Who's to say the detective even knows that he himself is an agent?
Not only has Bernie caught on to the greater scheme of things ... he managed to trade a cold bowl of pasta for an expensive magnifying glass that can see way more than a detective's. Bernie knows how to play the game.
8 Finley
Finley managed to train and work out for nearly two weeks in a dark, damp cave with only mysterious mushrooms to eat. If that doesn't scream perseverance and dedication, what does?
Who knows what was in those mushrooms, anyway? Perhaps she transcended to a higher plane of existence, where regular food and water isn't needed to survive. What secrets she uncovered while camping out down there is yet to be determined, but she definitely learned something.
7 MysteryMonkey
Being the head of a group of ghost scientists can be a difficult job. MysteryMonkey responded to a distressing call and arrived promptly with his crew. He knows his limits though, calling on famous detective Frog Detective himself.
MysteryMonkey is never unprepared. Being a long-time blogger and fan of the detective, he knew who he was calling and that the job would get done with the help! He may be a bit of a nerd, but he took extra measures to see that this island is ghost-less.
6 Martin
Martin is the king of an island and a cautious man. He may read too many ghost stories, but he knew something was fishy. Calling professionals who were probably expensive, Martin is unmatched in knowing what to do when there could be a ghost on your island.
One might think this was all a ruse to get a bunch of people to participate in his and Finley's dance competition. After all, it's only the two of them living on a small island. Who else was going to join in? If Martin knew Finley was where she was ... Perhaps he called on some people for some friendly competition under the guise of a ghost problem. Big brain moves.
5 Supervisor
You might think the supervisor sits at his desk all day calling people and playing with a Rubik's Cube ... and you may be right. But calling and handling cases with sensitive information while also dealing with clients on the phone can be tough work.
If the supervisor is smart enough to call on Frog Detective for a case such as this, he's smart in general! He knows the ins and outs of who works best where and what the public needs to see.
4 Lobster Cop
We never meet Lobster Cop, but we often hear mention of him and his amazing detective work. He could have his own TV show the way they speak about this lobster's abilities.
One doesn't have to meet Lobster Cop to appreciate Lobster Cop. He is a hard-working man beyond his fellow coworker's skills. To speak ill of his dedication and art is to step on a crack on the sidewalk ...
3 Koala
The first impression of Koala may lead one to think that he is feeble and limited in logic. But if you talk to him long enough, he may have some valid points to share.
Koala stays within the water simply because ghosts can't swim. How do we know that? Well ... it just makes sense, doesn't it? Who else would think about something so unorthodox yet somehow so smart? Koala knows how to get to exactly where he wants, whether it's away from danger or to catch a ride on a boat.
2 Detective
The frog detective himself would surely be high on the list of characters with smarts. Look at the way he wears that smart turtleneck and runs the case, acutely aware of himself and others. This is a man of talent.
This case didn't take much effort to solve and complete and perhaps that's how all his cases are. He may be second to Lobster Cop, but he is definitely a close second!
1 Larry
Larry is by far one of the most intelligent characters in the whole story. One chat with him and you think he might be a suspect, but he really just knows a lot more than anyone else and no one is listening to him.
Larry knew exactly where the noise was coming from and how to get to it. Heck, he even knew how to craft a bomb! His knowledge is unmatched. It may make one question who he really is. Isn't he a lobster?
