Halo might be one of the most influential shooters of all time, but that doesn't mean it's flawless. There are certain elements of the long-standing franchise that make no sense. The gaps in logic aren't huge, but they're humorous nonetheless.

Even loyal fans of the series have made countless memes poking fun at the games. They've done a great job too, as they've hilariously pointed out inconsistencies with the Spartan armor, flawed things about the timeline, and many more questionable aspects of the franchise. The fans haven't discriminated either as they've made memes about both the Bungie and 343 games. And their best work has made it onto this list.

10 The Suit's Biggest Weakness

Because of their armor, UNSC Spartans can take much more punishment than the average humans. This is due to their suit's tough shielding that needs to be brought down before any serious damage can be inflicted.

However, certain things can take out their shields and kill them in one go, such as rockets, grenades, and for some reason, hitting them in the back. Strike any other part of their body and they'll live, but weirdly the back of the armor is much weaker.

9 Inconsistent Strength

There are some serious inconsistencies in the strength of the Spartans in the Halo series. All of them have the power to flip any vehicle if it's upside down with incredible ease, yet they still can't control the recoil on guns like the battle rifle, DMR, and pistol.

These guns do pack a punch, but they should be easy to control for people who can flip full-sized tanks.

8 The Worst Teammates Ever

Sometimes on missions, the protagonist is backed up by a bunch of UNSC Marines. Despite these soldiers being highly trained individuals, they contribute virtually nothing to the main Spartan's mission unless they're in the turret seat of a vehicle.

Their weapons might not be quite as advanced as the ones that the enemies carry, but they should still be able to get a few kills instead of being cannon fodder. They're actually more useful in death as the protagonist can pick up ammo from their bodies.

7 Mysterious Deaths

Most of the Halo games have a limit to how far players can venture outside of the multiplayer map or campaign area. If they go beyond that limit, they're treated to a warning asking them to return to the battlefield. Ignoring the caution means they'll drop dead.

But what kills them? A few maps include guardians that kill whoever leaves the area, but most of the time, the individual dies for no reason at all.

6 The Disappearing Pistol

The pistol in the first Halo title is one of the most iconic guns in the series. It's unbelievable power and accuracy make it more effective than almost every other weapon that the UNSC and Covenant use.

This is why it makes no sense that the specific handgun doesn't appear in the sequels. Human soldiers are instead given pistols that are far less deadly than the original. If the UNSC wanted to win the war, they should've given every soldier the overpowered sidearm.

5 The Prequel Paradox

Halo Reach takes place before the timeline of the numbered games. And in classic video game prequel fashion, it somehow includes technology that doesn't appear in some of the other titles.

The only explanation is that weapons like the DMR, grenade launcher and focus rifle are discontinued after the events of Reach for unknown reasons. And then a few of the guns are suddenly redeveloped as they are used in Halo 4 onwards.

4 Spartans Are Fast Learners

Spartans in the Halo series don't always stick to their standard-issue equipment. Occasionally they need to pick up an alien weapon or hijack an enemy vehicle to use to their advantage.

However, it doesn't make any sense how somebody can acquire some alien tech they have little to no knowledge of, and be able to utilize it immediately. It's strange that humans can even operate alien equipment at all with their different sized and shaped limbs.

3 Technology Doesn't Always Evolve

The Halo games are set far in the future, which allows the inclusion of highly advanced technology like Spartan Lasers and armored super suits. Yet not everything in the Halo universe is futuristic, as pump-action shotguns are still a favorite among human soldiers.

It's a surprise that the UNSC weapons developers haven't come up with a more high-tech close range firearm in 500+ years. No wonder they struggle against the Covenant, Flood, and Forerunners.

2 Master Chief's Forgotten Skill

Master Chief is an extremely skilled warrior, as proven by his ability to dual-wield a pair of one-handed weapons effectively, even if the guns have different firing rates.

Although, he only manages to use two firearms at a time in the second and third games. By Halo 4, he's completely lost the ability to do that. It doesn't make sense that he would suddenly forget a skill that he previously mastered. Maybe the Chief is getting forgetful as he ages.

1 Spartans Can't Swim

Despite being super-soldiers, Spartans have an incredible weakness to water. Understandably, it would be difficult to swim in their heavy armor. But they don't even get the chance to attempt it, as they can only go into the water for a couple of seconds before dying.

Spartans can survive falls from space, so it's ridiculous that the liquid kills them so fast. And it's shocking that their enemies don't use it to their advantage.
