If you’re at all interested in the art and business of making games, here’s a thing you may want to check out. Game development information website Gamasutra recently announced the launch of Gamasutra Webcasts, a new informative webinar series “featuring great speakers who will share insight into the art and business of making games.” Each webinar will be broadcast live, and will be free to attend, with registration required.

Gamasutra also shared the details for the inaugural episode with the announcement post. Conveying Your Game's Value: A Marketing Talk and Q&A for Self-Publisher’s feat. Victoria Tran is the title of the pilot webinar, and is currently scheduled for Tuesday, December 1, 2020, at 2 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. The webinar is planned for an hour segment, with a 30-minute presentation by Tran discussing “how to convey your game's value through marketing”, a 15-minute presentation by webinar sponsor Xsolla covering future game publishing and distribution, and the last 15 minutes for a live moderated Q&A with Tran.

Victoria Tran is the Community Director at Among Us developer Innersloth, having just recently acquired that position after leaving Kitfox Games, where she worked on Boyfriend Dungeon, Dwarf Fortress, Pupperazzi, and more. Her Conveying Your Game's Value presentation is focused on game developers who have made the decision to self-publish, and will cover how to craft a message that conveys the true value of your game. To craft that message, she will guide you through the process of how players calculate a game’s value, creating a customer value proposition, and helpful writing tips to get your message noticed.

Xsolla President Chris Hewish will give the sponsor presentation Navigating the Future of Game Publishing and Distribution. As a gamer, developer, and game industry executive, Hewish has previously worked at companies like Activision, DreamWorks Animation, Survios, and Skydance. His presentation will address the challenges brought about by multiple game platforms and services, and how “the future is an independent, decentralized system that utilizes common, unified basic principles and standards.”

Gamasutra Editor-in-Chief and Publisher Kris Graft will be pulling mod duties for the first episode. For more info, you can read the official announcement on Gamasutra, and register for the premier Gamasutra Webcast here.
