War is hell, and there are no winners. Though there are stories about all the horrors that soldiers go through, there are many more about those caught in the crossfire. Regular people unfortunate to get caught in the middle of such a devastating conflict have no choice but to try and survive.
That's what they need to do in This War Of Mine. The game is set in an unknown country that has been devastated by warfare. Your goal is to guide a group of civilians turned survivors to try and endure worsening circumstances. They need to be kept healthy, fed, and vigilant in hopes of seeing the new day.
5 Two Point Hospital
Depending on the type of business, it can be run very differently. Hospitals can be quite large with many staff members and patients filling them to the brim which makes for difficult management. However, it needs to be efficient in order to give people the help they need.
In Two Point Hospital, you're running a hospital with the goal of curing as many patients as possible. The twist is how unexpected many of the ailments are which requires you to invest in some new procedures. Just make sure you don't make them worse or start a fire.
4 Real Heroes: Firefighter
There's an endless number of video game heroes that people reference and admire, but there are everyday heroes that can use some recognition. Among them are firefighters who perform life-saving duties at the risk of their own lives and health.
It takes a lot of strength and equipment to brave fires, but people depend on it. In Real Heroes: Firefighter puts you into the role of a firefighter on a dedicated team. Your goal is to get to any fires that have broken out as soon as possible, put them out, and save anyone who may be trapped within.
3 Dead Rising
Zombies films, series, and video games share a lot in common. This includes a tendency to have a ragtag group of people banding together to fight overwhelming hordes of undead. In such a situation, they're more concerned about their own survival and self-preservation.
Despite that, there are those who risk infection in order to help others. The Dead Rising series is a true zombie-fighting experience. You can spend hours just cutting through the undead, but there are more important things to do. For example, to find and rescue any other people trapped in the area and take them to a secure location.
2 Vampyr
The powers associated with being a vampire can sound quite appealing, but there are a lot of downsides. You get to experience this a Dr. Jonathan Reid in the game Vampyr. After waking up in a pile of bodies and killing his sister in a frenzied bout of hunger, Reid is not off to a great start.
On top of trying to come to terms with his new condition, there's a vampire plague sweeping through his home city. Thankfully, the hospital is more than happy to give Reid space to work and rest so that he can tend to the sick people all around the area.
1 Ghost Of Tsushima
Nothing hurts quite like watching your home being taken from you. This is what Jin Sakai, the hero of Ghost Of Tsushima, and the rest of the samurai and people have to witness. During an overwhelming invasion, a majority of the samurai are wiped out and the island of Tsushima was taken over rapidly.
In order to reclaim his home, Jin has to resort to new tactics to liberate occupied areas so that the citizens can return to their homes. He'll also regularly have to rescue any hostages and bring hope back to the island.
