Still, maybe Theatrhythm piqued your interest in exploring the music/rhythm genre. Or perhaps you need a change of pace after fighting so many Cactuars. Either way, we have a sweet assortment of RPG/Rhythm game mash-ups we think you'll love!

7 Kingdom Hearts: Melody Of Memory

Kingdom Hearts Melody of Memory Playing Dark Dominion - Hard song

After playing through Final Bar Line, your first question may have been, "when is the Kingdom Hearts DLC coming?" Well, we have some fantastic news for you. Square Enix published an entire Kingdom Hearts music/rhythm game called Melody of Memory, and you can play it right now!

Melody Of Memory combines everything great about Theatrhythm's gameplay with the irresistible charm and compelling music of Kingdom Hearts. We mean it: both games play nearly identically, minus some changes here and there. Plus, along with classic battle music from the series, you'll get to play licensed Disney music, including "Let It Go," "You've Got A Friend In Me," and "The Circle Of Life"!

6 The Metronomicon: Slay The Dance Floor

Metronomicon Party Members And Rave Enemy

Picture Dance Dance Revolution with an RPG twist, and you'll get The Metronomicon: Slay The Dance Floor, a ravetastic music/rhythm RPG. With colorful characters, pulsating dance music, and an intelligent combat system, Metronomicon lives up to the "SLAY" in its namesake!

The marriage between rhythm gameplay and RPG elements is much more intertwined in Metronomicon. For instance, players must switch between party members and nail musical phrases to use said member's skill. Much like the Harmonix classic, Amplitude, if the player fudges up, they must start the sequence over until they get it right. If you felt Theatrhythm was too easy, give this game a shot!

5 Taiko No Tatsujin Rhythmic Adventure Pack

Don-chan, Tia, Popo Kaka, and a team of friends fight a monster horde inside a magma filled cavern in Taiko No Tatsujin: Rhythmic Adventure 2.

Of all the video games to launch an RPG series, our last guess was Taiko No Tatsujin, Namco's signature yet uber-niche drumming sim. However, the Taiko RPG series already has two entries, which you can buy together or separately in the Nintendo Switch eShop!

The Taiko No Tatsujin RPG games are equal parts Theatrhythm, Persona, and unmistakably Taiko. Like Theatrhythm, each party member has unique skills that activate by achieving high chains of rhythmic accuracy. In addition, players can recruit defeated enemies to their party of merry friends, much like Persona. However, Taiko's presentation prevails in these cartoonish stories containing time travel, magic, and your favorite talking drums: Don and Ka!

4 Crypt Of The Necrodancer

A group of enemies surround Cadence

If you're a roguelike fanatic, you'll enjoy the deceptively straightforward Crypt Of The Necrodancer. However, this unique dungeon crawler feels more like a dungeon raver since every action the protagonist takes must stay in sync with the beat.

Legend Of Zelda fans may notice a familiar look and feel in Necrodancer. So, it's no surprise that the series's second entry crosses over with the famous Nintendo IP in Cadence Of Hyrule. This title teams Cadence, Zelda, and Link in musical dungeon-crawling journeys that mix music and gameplay elements from both series.

3 Persona Dancing Series

Persona 5 Dancing In Starlight. Yaldabaoth Our Beginning.

If you're a JRPG fan, you've either heard of or played one of the five mainline Persona games. Or perhaps you traded fisticuffs in the Midnight Channel while playing Persona 4 Arena. But no matter your familiarity with the series, you'll love these rhythm games dedicated to Persona's masterful and diverse compositions!

There are three Persona Dancing titles dedicated to Persona 3 (Dancing In Moonlight), Persona 4 (Dancing All Night), and Persona 5 (Dancing In Starlight). You can download P3 Dancing and P5 Dancing in the PS Store. However, you can only download P4 Dancing by purchasing the Endless Night Bundle, which packages all three games together for a value price.

2 Touhou Spell Bubble

Reimu faces off against Marisa in a dark mansion in Touhou Spell Bubble.

The Touhou media franchise reaches far and wide across various gaming genres. Reimu, Marisa, and their yokai friends and foes debuted in bullet hell titles during the nineties. But now there are several Touhou fighting games, Touhou RPGs, and a Touhou aerial combat game, to name a few.

One of the Touhou Project's most unique spin-offs is Touhou Spell Bubble, a music/rhythm reboot of classic Puzzle Bobble gameplay. In TSB, players must burst no less than three bubbles at a time. When large clusters of bubbles burst, the player must hit rhythm targets in time with the music's beat. It's a small change, yet a fundamentally better one. Plus, each character owns several Spell Cards that grant buffs and debuffs that will satisfy any RPG enthusiast!

1 Hi-Fi Rush

Chai looking at Life Gauge Piece 26 Chest

Suppose you want a music RPG that skews more toward action-packed than turn-based. In that case, Hi-Fi Rush will satisfy the rhythmic daredevil in you! This colorful, enthusiastic adventure follows Chai, an ordinary young man with extraordinary robotic music powers, escaping from the tech company that wants to "recall" him.

Hi-Fi Rush has a remarkably fluid combat system that syncs everything Chai does with the beat of the music. Plus, the game has an incredible soundtrack to rhythmically fight to, including licensed tracks by The Black Keys and Nine Inch Nails! Furthermore, an upgradable arsenal of attacks and skills keeps the game fresh. You'll feel like a rockstar during every moment!
